OT - Fantastic web-site, diabolical use of the English language ;)

I think the poster might be from across the pond. In British English, that sentence would be "New England are in Atlanta." But in American English, it's "New England is in Atlanta." In American English, though, it would be "The Patriots are in Atlanta."

    Patten retires; Welker returns; Related?

Welker already counted against the 80-man roster. Burgess going on DNR already created a spot, so they were at 79 to begin with.

    Are the conditioning tests over?

Right, but that's not the issue here. It's whether a player who was *not* placed on Active/PUP but nonetheless did *not* practice is still eligible for Reserve/PUP.

    Are the conditioning tests over?

I think so as well, but there is definitely a gray area there.

    Are the conditioning tests over?

He's not under contract, so he doesn't need to be there. He can't be placed on any Active/ or Reserve/ list either, since he's not under contract.

    Are the conditioning tests over?

No, veterans do not report until tomorrow, which is when the run is. Welker and Crable have known injuries (per SMY, on Crable), which is probably why they were put on the list early. Same is probably true with Jenkins.

Pats place Welker, Crable, Weston on Active/PUP; Jenkins and T. Johnson to Active/NFI

Pats place Welker, Crable, Weston on Active/PUP; Jenkins and T. Johnson to Active/NFI

Re: Pats place Welker, Crable, Weston on Active/PUP; Jenkins and T. Johnson to Active Yes, I believe that's allowed. But generally they are rehabing to get back.

Re: Pats place Welker, Crable, Weston on Active/PUP; Jenkins and T. Johnson to Active No, players on Active/PUP or Active/NFI can be activated at any time.

The biggest question mark is not OLB

The problem is, the pair of Wright and Green had its share of problems against the run.
