FYI... Miguel - Update on Dead Cap Money Topic
I just read this from Broncos writer Dave Krieger:

Were you aware of this? I don't believe the Patriots have a ton of dead money, but figured I would pass it along.
Ebersol said he quit over money. He saw a big workload and felt he needed a big raise to deal with it. When they told him no, he resigned.
I'm don't really have anything to say about Comcast, as I have had DirectTV for a long time, but you can't tie Ebersol's leaving to anything else. He...
I can't see Fletcher playing a lot of OLB, I thought he did a good job last year inside in coverage. He runs pretty good and is a good open field tackler, so he fits nice as an inside guy on passing downs. I remember the big open field tackle he had on Ray Rice when he was spotting him late in...
They didn't even sign McKenzie of the PS. He was released by the Pats from their PS at his request. He was unhappy and wanted to move closer to home, so he approached the team about getting his release and they let him go at his request.
He then signed with TB on their PS, where he could be...
I don't have copies of their contracts, which is why I said "I think".
However, Ian Rappaport reported it as so in his 3/14/2011 article that has since been archived:

In the article he states Gronkowski has an $830K roster bonus and Cunningham has a $525K roster bonus coming this...
I think the following guys having a roster bonus, although not all may be due at the start of the league year:
Tom Brady
Jermaine Cunningham
Rob Gronkowski
Aaron Hernandez
Dan Koppen
Devin McCourty
Marcus Stroud
Wes Welker
There may be others, but I think those guys all have roster...
I like Drew and don't blame him for feeling that way. It is natural for someone in that situation to be a little bitter. He was the face of the franchise and then was an afterthought not that long after suffering a tough injury.
That said, it is hard to argue it was anything but the right...
I think the Patriots value Benny a lot more than fans. It is true he isn't a game-breaker and isn't a guy who is going to play a lot in the passing game, but he is a guy who gets what is there on most plays. He rarely makes a negative play and never fumbles. I think he is the kind of...
Re: Schefter: Pats sign Marcus Stroud
To be fair, Buffalo struggled implementing the 3-4 because they didn't have the personnel and played 4-3 for pretty much the last 3/4ths of the season. George Edwards was an inexperienced coordinator (1 season with Was, 1 month at Florida), and a lot of...
I think the Pats biggest issue relates to 3rd down defense. They couldn't get off the field last year on 3rd down. They were last in the NFL by a pretty fair margin.
That would seem to point to their nickel/dime looks and their ability to:
1) Generate Pass Rush
2) Cover pass routes
#1...
Re: Ngata Franchised - Thought with our 2 1st's
People are really under-stating how good Ngata is. He is a force up front and can change their whole defense. With him and Wilfork the Pats would own the LOS against every team. His impact would go well beyond any stats. I'd give up 2 firsts...
Re: Ngata Franchised - Thought with our 2 1st's
Ngata is one of the best defensive players in the NFL. I would do that in a minute.
That said, the picks you surrender have to be of equal or better value than your draft slot. So, the Pats cant' trade down below their draft slot and sign him...
