Can they put cleats on a walking boot?

Re: Not to add fuel to teh fire..but PFT is saying that Brady may have a broken foot.

Maybe I'm missing something here, but how the #@^&@#% do you walk, let alone practice, on a broken foot?

what, u mean u cant do squats with a broken foot????

Re: Not to add fuel to teh fire..but PFT is saying that Brady may have a broken foot.

Maybe someone has already posted this, but here's the link: http://audio.weei.com/m/audio/20825621/news_on_brady_s_injury.htm?pageid=966

Anyway I heard them talking about this earlier today and I like how they cover all angles, he's injured but he will play but if he doesn't play we broke it first and if he does we said he would.

As far as I am concerned, Brady will play and this is old news. You don't practice and work out with broken bones in your foot.

Brady couldn't go to the PUP since he didn't start camp on the PUP and he injured his foot after camp broke. I don't think Brady would have been practicing a week after breaking his foot though. Brady was on the field the following week after getting injured.

As for the Florio piece, he was really quick to jump the gun on a completely unsubstantiated story. Funny since he must have contacts at WEEI to confirm this story.

My mistake. I forgot the rules for a moment (need more coffee.) I agree with you about practicing on a broken foot. Does not make any sense at all.

Did they cut Moss last year? I can't remember.

Re: Not to add fuel to the fire but PFT is saying that Brady may have a broken foot.

A broken bone in your foot really does not mean anything. It is (1) the severity of the break, and (2) the place in the foot where the bone is broken.

I am no doctor, but have had 2 seperate broken bones in my foot in my life. In one instance I was unable to walk. Yet, I also broke a bone in my foot and was able to finish out the last month of my soccer season.

So, yes, Brady's foot may be broken, but i think the severity and placement of the break is more important that just having a break

Na, he played. Fairly effective, looking forward to a better second season with Tom.

Re: Not to add fuel to the fire but PFT is saying that Brady may have a broken foot.

I sprained my foot last week.

That is all.

Re: Not to add fuel to the fire but PFT is saying that Brady may have a broken foot.

How about Matt Light and Russ Hochenstoeoiieensnnegien carry Brady onto the field and then with one arm over Matt and one over Russ he then takes the snaps and plays the game?

Just sayin'.

I hate the preseason/time between the first game.

Re: Not to add fuel to the fire but PFT is saying that Brady may have a broken foot.

so much hype about all these little things that aren't true

Re: Not to add fuel to the fire but PFT is saying that Brady may have a broken foot.

I heard or read somewhere that the initial study (an MRI) showed a hairline fracture, but the second study (a CT scan) didn't. Again, from what I am told, the medical staff doesn't believe its a fracture, hence his ability to run, etc. Nevertheless, the sheer act of standing and bearing that weight can ****** healing.

Weei just reported a "cracked bone in his right foot". If this is true, no panic, just keep him out of week 1 and 2 and then just monitor closely. We win Week 1 and get killed in Week 2. A 1-1 record doesn't worry me. I'd rather have a 100% Tom Brady than a 75% Brady trying to play "safe" for 16 games.

What's was WEEI's source?

I'm not concerned about the first 3 games, but I sure would like to extend that Regular Season WIN streak to an impossible to beat no. like 22 or 26 or more.

Re: Not to add fuel to the fire but PFT is saying that Brady may have a broken foot.

How the hell did Brady break his foot in the first place? That is the question I am most intrigued by.

Re: Not to add fuel to the fire but PFT is saying that Brady may have a broken foot.

The bottom line is a broken foot would have landed him on PUP and the team would have put all their energy into readying Cassel for the regular season. He would have come back after six weeks of healing and a roster spot would have been made available for another player (extra TE or extra DB would have been my guess.) Why does anyone still listen to gossipy garbage like PFT?

BRADY BROKEN FOOT=SIMMS, BOLLINGER, BAUMANN OR EVEN CULPEPPER on our roster today for this weeks game! They're not on there yet?.....oh.
Unless management of the Pats has the "under" for the next few weeks games, Cassel isn't taking first team snaps.

Re: Not to add fuel to the fire but PFT is saying that Brady may have a broken foot.

There's no way they would ever keep him out of the Jets game unless he couldn't walk or step into it. Winning the AFC East is the first top priority for this team and they don't want to give the Jets any leverage.

Re: Not to add fuel to the fire but PFT is saying that Brady may have a broken foot.

Another QB would have already been on the roster by now

BB is not stupid enough to put a worthless QB like Cassel as a starter unless it was an emergency and the starting QB was injured IN AN ACTUAL GAME not beforehand.

Thats the only time Cassel will ever start in this league is in an emergency and one that is sudden

Re: Not to add fuel to the fire but PFT is saying that Brady may have a broken foot.

There are lots of 'name' QBs that suddenly became available last weekend. None have been invited for a tryout. So much for the many here predicting that BB would dump Cassel for a TBD vet. Cassel's presence on the roster speaks to the lack of talented NFL capable QBs in this solar system that match Bill's criteria.
