We all know Brady is not only the key to the offense but he is the biggest reason of all of the players why the team has been so successful in this decade and without him the team would very well be in trouble, even though its what we call a T-E-A-M game,he makes this team one to always fear

That being said,Brady is by the far the guy who us fans cannot afford to see get hurt and be out for awhile or for some reason to have an off year and not perform well in 2008

So if Brady is the most important guy who will make or break this teams 2008 campaign - Who in your opinion is right behind him in second as a player we cannot afford to lose or we cannot afford him to have a bad season

There are quite a few, but Vince Wilfork comes to mind. Probably not a guy lots of others might pick, but That's who I'll go with.

A pretty good choice,Although I forgot him in the poll

Mike Wright I am sure would be O.K. as a replacement but he is not Wilfork

Let's hope we never have to find out! :D

I gotta go with Moss. He opens it up for Welker and I cant believe he didnt get more MVP consideration last year.

I went with Ellis Hobbs

I am not keen on his abilities but he is holding together only a glimpse of the cornerbacks we had last season,We need at least a small piece of that cornerback area still intact from last season and in reality the only one left is Hobbs (Meriweather was not as prominent as Hobbs was)

Randy was invisible to the offense after week 12 because teams decided they needed to double team him and find a way to take him out of games,Those teams did a good job on him after week 12 and thats where he probably lost a little of that MVP possibility which you could say was right after the Philly game and then on.

Big Vince. He is the key to the defense imo.

........Wilfork

O agee..if he goes down..the D is really in tough shape..he's THAT important...but way less than Brady..

No, I don't think he's as important as Brady, but who do we have that could fill in and do what he does? Nobody I can think of. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure BB has a plan B in case Vince got hurt, but I don't think it would be as simple as just plugging someone in the spot and go with it and everything's just fine again. I'm hoping 2008 is as healthy a season (lack of injuries) as you can reasonably expect in the NFL, so hopefully we don't have to find out how good our plan B is.

where is Wilfork?

Re: After Brady who is second on your list of a player who must stay healthy & play w

someone has to mention/vote for the second highest player on the team right? I think he plays next to big Vince and back in 04/05 was considered a top 5 defensive player in the NFL.

same here...Wilfork all the way...

what brady is to the offense, wilfork is sort of to the defense...

I third that. Wilfork is probably the most important cog in the defense.

Wilfork without question

Re: After Brady who is second on your list of a player who must stay healthy & play w

a healthy and well playing Brady plus(to) Moss should equal an offensive output that should more than compensate for any early season defensive growing pains.

I think this is the best possible time to bring in fnordcircle and his signature dance. Wilfork all the way :D

[Boy is it disappointing when big Vince doesn't dance...how come my .gif took a dump on me?]

We have bingo !!

yeah, wilfork for me too, I love mike wright and lekevan smith, but if big vince goes down and we have to rely on them, we stand a good chance of missing the playoffs.
