Will 'Hanna' affect the weather for Sunday's game? What are you hearing in NE?

I think it slows a bit and we get whacked on Sunday!!

I'll have my very bright yellow slicker on if it happens - "warm" rain is OK, it's tat brutal cols, November & December rain that really gets to me.

My Patriots are mudders, their mothah was a muddah, their faddah was a muddah - we'll win even bigger.

I sure hope not...

Weather kept Jets competitive against us last season, granted in much different circumstances.

LJ is mudder too not that I am that worried. Actually I dont know how much wet conditions LJ has played in but he style seems like it would be good for mud

Lets hope it hits on Sat

Didn't know there could be mud on our custom turf?

Those little black ground up tire bits below the plastic blades of grass errr turf are slippery when wet.......

Yes - they've invested a great amount of money into making artificial dirt and artificial mud. It's very realistic.

The artificial snow however leaves a lot to be desired. They just can't get the texture right.

I never really thought the term mudder specifically refered to mud but more sloppy conditions and if it is raining that hard turf or no turf it'll be sloppy.

note: by sloppy I dont mean dirty I mean tough to play in.

Weather.com says "Mix of sun and clouds. Highs in the upper 70s and lows in the upper 50s." 20% chance of rain. I'm going, so hopefully it'll be a nice day.

It's too early to call :) But the 7 day has Sunday as mostly sunny and low 80's. Saturday's supposed to stink though. We'll probably know more as the week goes on.

Right now it projects to pass through MA early Sunday morning, leaving Maine by 2 PM.

Surprising that its going to retain Tropical Storm strength after being inland for so long - that means sustained winds in excess of 40 mph... trees down, power out, traffic snarled... so there's the potential that the game could still be affected even if the weather is ok on Sunday.

Anyone planning on flying in on Saturday better have some backup plans too.

Tropical Storm Josephine looks to have a track that bears some watching... no telling what it could do but judging by Ike's direction if the same weather pattern remains that could allow it to take a track right up the coast. Still far too early to say however.

Looks like the forcast is showing the Tropical Storm slowing somewhat and staying closer to the coast.

This one really bears some watching. It would only take the slightest storm track change now to have this stay off the coast, skirt up the eastern seaboard and retain even more of its strenghth hitting southern New England straight on Saturday evening.

Tropical Storms are nothing to be taken lightly - up to 73 mph sustained winds and some gusts even higher. Get a head start on preparations. The safe assumption is that trees will be down in the region and power will be out. Anyone planning on flying in should look into Friday travel options.

The good news is that these storms are usually moving pretty fast once they get on this track and that's what looks like will happen here - so the torrential rains and high winds might be short lived.

B.B. knew about the bad storm season all along. That's why he has 5 rb's. They cant throw in high winds, so they'll just run the whole game :D

Our opponent this week is the Kansas City Chief not Hanna. And they are great football team. In all three areas of the game. Explosive on offense, solid on defense and powerful on special teams. They are well coached. This team that wins this sunday will be the one that executes the best. If it sunny, rainy, windy both teams play in the same weather.

( I believe that would be the BB response)

Looks like Sat PM rain from Hanna...they usually increase in speed and not slow down, so this is a better sign of things...

The 11 am update isn't good - storm has slowed somewhat, and the models have the storm bouncing off the coast and staying over water where it can retain more strength (the water isn't tropical warm but its the land and trees that usually sap the power when it goes inland even a little way)

So the eye looks to stay off the coast on a track towards RI, with the progress delayed somewhat to have the eye over us Sunday morning now instead of Saturday night (though always tough to say where the bulk of the wind and rain will be compared to the eye - typically its to the east for these storms).

All that being said, once this starts towards us its going to move fast, hopefully minimizing the damage. But if this continues to stall we'll could see it affecting the gametime - and I'd think gusty winds will still dictate a short pass, run oriented day.
