How about Seau?

When you realize how hard it is to remain competitive year in and year out in the NFL, you'll suddenly find what the Pats have done over the past 7 years very impressive. Now, going 7-0 in the Superbowl over those 7 years is obviously something you expected to happen. Guess you can't accept anything less. Go get 'em tiger!

The best corner option is the one currently on the roster. He's had a good track record, is mobile, and has a pro attitude. If that's drinking the kool aid, I'm ordering a bucket.

Agree 100%.

How are you wrong ever year? Did their moves work in 2005? Did they work in 2006? Did they work in 2007? No, they didnt. They have the ability to win every year if only the front office spent a little more money and got better players instead of stop gaps on defense. They could have won the superbowl the past three years if they put a little more thought into who they sign.

See? His standards aren't THAT high...he just expects a SuperBowl every year!

You say that as if he's insane when he's not. The Patriots have been the best team in the league every year since 2003, and it's certainly not outrageous that people are disappointed that they've failed to win the Super Bowl for the past 3 straight seasons. I understand that the one-and-done format makes it easier to knock better teams out of the playoffs, but the best team in the NFL has failed to claim the crown for 3 consecutive years. I do not agree with Archives' conclusion, but it's not crazy or way out of line.

This defense has never relied on the secondary. Didn't we win one with Moreland and Poteat?

Not right now. And don't call me a front runner because I have been a fan for over ten years and still was a fan after their horrific superbowl loss. I was pissed when they traded Branch without having a legit replacement and it's happening again. In fact, their act is starting to get old. Whether it's hiding injuries to think they have some advantage when everyone and their mom knows that player is injured to Bill's dumb video taping costing the team a first round draft pick that could have been used to possibly get Mike Jenkins with a trade up. The video taping didn't bother me as much then as it does know looking at the current state of the DB's. That first round pick could have really helped the Pats. Letting Asante Samuel go without replacing him is icing on the cake.

So go and be a JetFan already. Whose stoping You ? I for one am getting awfully weary of your perpetuial niggly comments. Ten year fan, BFD. All you saw was good or .500 years.

We recall Rod Rust and 1-15 years. Or Clive Rush.

If they had the extra one there is still no guarentee they would have used that on a corner.

And you seem to be very selective.

Apparently by your standards only a first rd pick can help the team.

Is it not enough for you that they drafted 2 corners one in the second and one in the third. And they have had a lot of success with DBs in the rounds 2, 3, and 4. But why would that matter to you all you want is 22 players 11 on each side to be getting paid front line money. Because throwing money around willy nilly has done wonders for teams like say Washington.

I think you have no clue how the economics of football work.

You are like one of those annoying little spoiled brats that wants everything and think they deserve everything. Never giving a damn what anything costs another, just "GIMME GIMME GIMME".

Not right now. And don't call me a front runner because I have been a fan for over ten years and still was a fan after their horrific superbowl loss.

Do you even know what the term FAN is? And I don't even want to know what the hell you were like when the team was ACTUALLY making bad personnel decisions, and not winning any superbowls or even playoffs.

Meion Branch didn't force the patriots hand or anything, refusing to play out his contract that he signed. What would you have done in that situation? Caved to his demands and overpay him?

Yea that hiding injuries thing is just frigign infuriating, how do we ever live with that one!

And it was Badell's overblown reaction to a minor infraction that cost us a first rounder. But yea it was all "Bill's dumb video taping".

That first rounder definitely would have helped, but I think we probably still would have taken Mayo and NOT traded up. But keep wishing.

Why don't you let the rookie CBs play before juding the state of the DBs? Again be pissed on Roger idiot Goodell for the first rounder being taken away.

Tell me why they shouldn't have let Samuel go? He was in no way, shape or form worth the money he was commanding. So there is no way in hell we would re-sign him.

You are annoying, you just want everything to go your way when you have hardly any information on any of the decisions being made. Quit thinking/acting like you are some football genius and know more about the patriots needs than the guys running the show, because they have proven they know more about the needs of a football team than all the other PRO teams out there this decade.

Not sure what the Eagles are asking for Lito. If its too much I think we need to say screw it and go sign up Law for 1-2 seasons. At the very least he will get in Manning's head when we play Indy. Skills may have diminished but he's a surefire starter which is far more than you can say than the other dozen CB's we've tried out this offseason.
