Brady says he's good to go...BUT

Obviously I hope he plays but if he has to sit out the first 3 games then have the bye to be completely healthy Week 5 that works for me.

He said that he felt like he was ready to play any of the four preseason games (meaning, four weeks ago). The part about not mentioning if he's ready for this week is just media digging. He's good to go.

Why would he ever definably state he's going to play? There's no positive in that.

No question, Brady & Welker both play.

So I just listened to the WEEI interview on NFL Live...

"Do you know if you're playing Sunday and are just not telling us?"

Brady: *literally 4 second pause* ....Uh, well...

Tom Brady is ready to play in the New England Patriots' opener but stopped short Monday of saying he would.

So let me get this straight: A BB-coached player does not state that he is 100% back from injury and does not tell the media he will or will not be starting, and this is news?

I would be more surprised if Brady told CBS he would be playing.

100% he plays, take it to the bank.

The only trouble with this scenerio is that they might start the

season 0-3 with Cassel at quarterback.

As long as KC thinks Cassel might play, they'll have to waste time practicing all those eight-in-the-box, pick six plays.:D

LOL - I actually think we'd go 2-1 - but you could be right.

Put it this way, if he doesn't start and thereby ends his consecutive game streak, I think we'd have to assume that there's more to this injury than anyone is letting on. I think he's going to start.

I don't agree with your logic. I don't think he or BB care about streaks or stats and will do what is best for him and the team. They would not risk prolonging an injury just to keep a streak alive.

And finish out 13-3, and a SB win, I'm good with that.

Seconded.....

..... and will be listed as probable - Sholder on the injury report. Come on folks, this isn't our first year as fans, is it?

Brady says he's good to go...BUT not whether he will play

Well, he does have the ongoing shoulder injury.

But seriously, since when do players and not Belichick get to decide whether they will play and provide the opposition with any advance notice? Is anyone surprised that Brady wouldn't hold this information close to the vest?

There's a reason why Belichick is the one who oversees the injury report - Brady understands this even if some reporters apparently don't.

that does not work for me, that would be a tough one

I didn't think Brady was actually hurt.

After hearing him today on WEEI I am not so sure anymore.

When asked why he was not on the sidelines for the last game he said it was not good for him to stand for almost 5 hours.

I seriously fell out of my chair laughing when I heard it replayed today. I've never heard a direct question so beautifully dodged...after the pause he truly did a good job not giving any information without establishing any position. Artful.
