The link doesn't go to the Herald, for those of us who don't want to give them hits.

I guess Rodney told this to Tomase. My only problem with it is WTF is he talking to Tomase for? Give Mike Reiss the scoop, Rodney!
it doesnt matter what rodney wants, i think bb tried one last time with law,and law is still playing "give me the money man" crap he bb moved on and signed oneal, end of story" for feed the family law," thank god

Week 2 pats Sign Lynch and Sign Law

Lynch maybe. Law no.

It's just like Favre... at some point, no matter how many times a player leans towards doing something, you just have to call a spade a spade. Favre is never going to willingly retire, and Law is never going to play for what the Pats are willing to pay him.

Pats need a guard. I know where they can get an all-Pro cheap. Goes by the name "hannah".

If he decided he could still play I'ld take him :D we are thin on the line

Week 2 pats Sign Lynch and Sign Law
its been reported the pats have been talking to law, that said the oneal signing tells you they couldnt agree to terms , which is no big surprise concerning law who has pocketed over 65 mill in his carrer

"Hey, Ty knows how I feel about him," Harrison said. "The respect and the love as a friend that I have for Ty, the respect as a football player, he knows that. If he's here, great. If he's not, we'll play with the guys we have and that's the focus.
"You don't want to comment too much on someone that's not here, but at same time, I mean, Ty Law is Ty Law."

You go Rodney:D

Patriots have on many occasions taken the old strategy of throw as much sh*t against the wall and see what sticks so I don't think one means the other can't happen.

Though I do have to agree this would make it seem less likely but one can hope.

O'Neal is a good kick returner, so maybe if he shows some value there, the Pats can keep him, boot CJ Jones for Law in Week 2, and use O'Neal as a backup CB and KR.

Edit - I should say that I'll be fine with it if the Pats don't bring back Law. He is slower than before, and I am a believer in Wheatley.

Then why have Belichick and Law been talking all offseason?

Your analysis is so off-base.

ESPN mentions Law and Pats on its morning show.

I am neutral to Ty coming back, myself. He doesn't deserve a huge contract is all I am really sure of. If he can come back for the right price, I am all for it.

You dont have to worry there. If we were going to overpay for him he would be here already.

why isnt he signed? why did we sign oneal and not law? use some common sense here

:ditto:

Please people, game one is in a few days, don't we have enough to talk about without the same old tired "bring Ty Law back" discussions? Law is old, washed up, greedy, and committed only to "feeding his family" . O'Neal is signed and we have our 5 CB's going in to the season, with Richardson on the PS. It's time we move forward with whom we have. BB and Law can talk all they want. Law is history folks, accept it.

OK here is some common sense.

What is the biggest knock on Ty right now? his speed or lost step.

So why would we trust that if we did sign him that it would solve all. Instead you sign this guy too. I have never known BB to get one guy and think that is all the position needs (except QB)

You might be right it does make sense that maybe we couldnt get Ty back and moved on to Deltha but I don't think it has to be it.

ya its amazing the mentality to live in the past here, and talk about the same things over and over, anwer my question mr. pats 1 why isnt he signed and why did they sign oneal, you asid im off base, but mr. pats 1 you are the one off base, you do a good job as a media watch dog and poster i think you should stay in that arena

I just think it came down to money, and Ty still feels he should be paid like a top 5 cb.. Ty Law and Belichick have been talkin the last 3 offseasons, its just never come to a deal.. In fact the deion branch fiasco, money was put aside for a possible ty law reunion..
