I know it is BB and Pioloi...but BB first proved to us during the Super Bowl last year that he is no longer perfect.

When they let Samuel and Gay go, we said he has a plan.

The free agent signings have been awful.... Webster and Lynch and Victor Hobson an F...right...

Backup quarterback....sorry....Casell is not adequate.

the CB situation now is just downright ridiculous. Hobbs and an untested rookie...and when one of them gets injured forget about pass defense.

Offensive line...signing Mark Levoir is that the answer?

Way too many serious questions going into this year...far more than in past years....just starting to feel like the Patriots may have "jumped the shark"

Gay hasn't been that good for a while. And was injured alot.

maybe you dont remember the 2006 offseason, that was when things looked bad

I agree that I feel pretty nervous with our CB situation. We cant go forward with Hobbs/Wheately/L. Sanders/Wilhite, even if Meriweather does play some corner. Lose Hobbs and I am really scared.

Nothing wrong with questioning. It's been a bizarre couple of days.

Just don't lose your mind about it. It's only football, after all.

You do have to worry about the secondary, 4 corners, 2 of those rookies. Hobbs has got to be taken off kick returns now, if he goes down then were really screwed.

All we've lost from the OL is Neal.
We lost our best CB but couldn't just sign an equal one so we have a high draft pick replacing him.
The backup QB is the same as last year.

Relax.

Wheatley is not even close to as good as Asante if thats what you're suggesting. It will take a few years for him to become really good if that indeed happens.

Four corners, one is a legit starter, two who are unproven rookies and another who I had never heard of prior to us signing him. Our two starting corners are freaking midgets. Yeah its something to worry about.

How'd you like their draft class???

maybe we should have give the money to samuel?

Does it look like that's what I'm suggesting ? Can you read ? Can you comprehend ?

I didn't say he was close, I said they lost a top FA and this is the best they could do without breaking the bank.

.

And you know this for a fact how - I bet you were trashing Asante early last year for playing soft??

You do recall some young rookie named Asante starting in his rookie year and doing pretty darn well, followed by another named Hobbs??

Shhh, that's crazy talk. How dare you bring sensibility into things? ;)

It's definitely more than ok to question. I'll compare what Bill is doing to what I know, film-making. You're making a film, the deadline is looming. You make a few actor shuffles, get a few extra shots, but eventually you've got what you've got and you make it the best you can and sometimes you'll find adversity, risk, and limitations will be a huge boost to what you can do.

I think we'll be shocked at how the new guys perform and in a good way. It's risky and the O will have to take the pressure off the D, but I think that's why they looked great last year. And Brady takes the pressure off the O-Line.

I'm ok with the phase rebuilding, it's much better than all at once.

Also, I don't think the Lynch signing was bad and I think that Jersey will stay available. No way the guy calling the Jersey sales has no idea what's going on.

LOL ...sorry, I did lose my head - I now return you to the land of the doomsday legion, sky is falling, panic button pushing members of Patriot nation.

Thats good for you if you feel comfortable and relaxed about our corner back situation. We lost Asante one of the better corners in a league, a proven play maker and in return we have an unproven rookie being forced to start on week 1. It has been a very significant downgrade.

fgssand, I was certainly not one of the people trashing Asante. I've liked him for quite a while and when some idiots were saying that Hobbs might be better than Samuel back before 2006 I disagreed.

Asante didn't start in his rookie year. 2003, the corners were Law and Poole. He did start in 2004 after injuries rattled our starters and he did a solid job. Even so it wasn't like he was great in 2004 or even early 2005 for that matter. Wheately may turn out to be a very good player but I am not sure it will happen this year when we have so little depth at corner.

I see many people feel like we have little to worry about. Hopefully you're all right.

The drop off from Asante to Wheatley isn't nearly as big as some people are making it out to be. It's not like we're going from Deion Sanders to Hank Poteat.

Does anybody think that they might wait till the lose just 1 regular season game before they panic. 19 STRAIGHT and STILL COUNTING if the Red Sox ever won 19 in a row would people be looking for putting front office heads on a stick???????

If you have even the slightest doubt that Red Sox fans would do exactly that, you mustn't know any Red Sox fans.:D
