Tampa Bay cuts Eugene Wilson

Stating the obvious - it's one of the biggest shockers out there to me how the 2003 Eugene Wilson has ended up as the 2008 Eugene Wilson.

Boy - you'd have to think that anyone who knows the system is going to get some serious consideration - especially since he could likely be had for the veteran minimum at this point

What happened to him down there - I think he only had a one year contract but I think it was nearly $2 million so they must have thought he had some potential

yeah he used to be tough.

those injuries did him in. otherwise, i don't think there is an explanation for it... is there?

I don't care about the high hopes we had for him, I would take him as the 4th safety.

The guy just lost his edge and toughness. I think he got injured too many times and started to play timid. He was still decent in coverage. I am surprised he couldn't stay on as their nickelback.

I'm not sure the system works the same as the days of O-T-I-S and Terrell Buckley. Maybe a system change is why Earthland, Gino and Randell fell off the map. And, of course, Dom Capers is offically secondary coach so there might be other changes.

This screams as a "bring him back" possibility to me. I always liked him.

Id take him as a third corner right now I think. ;)

Yeah, I always like him getting injured too . That is all he did. He's a piece of trash.

This kind of thing around here is disgusting.

Let's see, so that would make you a Light, Watson, and Colvin hater too?

Yeah thats all he ever did, right? Did you even watch 2003/2004 seasons? He was our second best d-back behind Rodney who was tremendous. He was a play maker, hard hitter, very good in coverage. I realize he is not even near what he used to be for some reason but how about you STFU before you make yourself look even stupider.

Your post would be ok if you changed it so it was Chad Jackson was always getting hurt. That is all he did. Wilson actually had a few really good seasons.

You guys would take all former Patriots ... we should make
a shadow team called the Grey-triots.

i think the pats will take a look at him we are in need of someone

I was hoping to get a comp pick out of the Geno signing. Anyone know how this affects that, if the $2M contract guy gets cut nefore the season?
