Re: Chad Jackson=BUST

You guys are real nice....seems like plenty of people on here are celebrating this guy being cut because they predcted it. nice.

IMO I am not giving up on him yet. The Patriots run very complicated option routes and the fact he never was able to get it here doesn't mean he wont move onto another team and fit in better.

I fully expect he will find a team that he fits in with better and has some sucess. He is still really young and he has some good tools.

Moga, Keegs and Crazy dave seem to be at the front of this party.

That being said he wasn't getting it here and apparently it was time for us to move on. No need to celebrate though.

Re: Chad Jackson=BUST

Where are all the homers who were bashing those of us who have been calling him a bust since the start of camp? Fresh crowing being served up this morning... come'n'get'it. :)

It's very preverse that Cassel is staying and he did next to nothing in the preseason and Chad is being shipped out. The time is preculiar. I wonder is he threw a tamptrum or did something last night. Or somebody flew in last night that was cut from another team and they are finalizing the deal and chad is low man on the roster.

Re: Chad Jackson=BUST

They probably waited a day to try and make a trade.

They tried to trade him but no one bit. Even the Bengals weren't interested.

Actually, I'm rather ambivalent about Jackson.
I just started the thread as a joke.
Glad so many think it sucks, you guys are sharp.
With all the other sucky threads around here, I did'nt think anyone would notice.
But thankis. lol
That said,
BRING BACK BAM CHILDRESS!!!
Woo-Hoo!!!

Re: Chad Jackson=BUST

So, how long was Jackson here compared to Bethel Johnson?
Johnson was a rd2 pick as well, right?

I believe Bethel lasted longer.

Re: Chad Jackson=BUST

Bethel lasted 3 years with 30 receptions and 6 TDs, 2 being 92 and 93 yards kick returns respectively.

Also happened to be part of the back to back Super Bowl championships.

Bethel's gave us some outstanding plays during his time here so I wouldn't call him a bust...more like something happened along the way and he never seemed to find his way back to his glory days.

Duane Starks=BUST

Re: Chad Jackson=BUST

I'll always remember that return right before the half @ Indy, partly because of the fact I called it while in the room.

Re: Chad Jackson=BUST

Great thread. I'd hope this would be a wake-up call to certain elements of the fan base (none of whom post here, please don't get offended!!!!) who couldn't see the forest for the...well, their own egos. But it seems even being cut isn't convincing enough.

I'll point out that this is not sarcasm, since "great thread" is hardly ever used except sarcastically.

I don't think having hope for a player is a bad thing. Hope is what keeps Raiders season ticket holders still coming to games.

this board seems a little hypersensitive for a football forum, sometimes.

here is a knucklehead who, not only privileged enough to be in the nfl, but playing for the coolest team in the league, stood a better chance than most of picking up superbowl rings, and he fumbled the ball through lack of effort.

all he did was line up in the world's richest welfare line and haul away a big pile of dough and people are crying for him??
open your basement window and let the light of reality shine in a little -- there are plenty of people out there deserving sympathy, but this isn't one of them.

edit:

also, this probably helps out washington, so be happy for that for a guy who deserves it rather than all weepy over a BUST!!

You completely misundersood what I was saying.

You don't have to feel sympathy for him but it isn't nice to dance on someones grave.

That is why I said his time apparently came up. I get why we moved on and in BB we trust so I am not second guessing. I just can't believe how many people have come out to celebrate (for lack of a better word).

Re: Chad Jackson=BUST

because he was stealing for a living - that's why.

Re: Chad Jackson=BUST

I agree, he's a bust. But why are we celebrating the fact a (former) Patriot was a mistake? the fact his selection was a bad move is on the managments head just as much as the player, so why cheer?. It's a sad outcome for the Patriots organization more then anything.
