I was going to make a poll but polls kind of suck sometimes.
Who is the Red Sox MVP and who is the best candidate for league MVP.
Also ... don't want to leave out DK ... 16-2 is damn good.

I want to give the edge to Pedy based on what he does for the clubhouse in addition to the field... this kid is captain material.
Yuke's big numbers are better but Pedrioa's bat on the ball numbers are better.

I really like both guys.. they're very similar in their approach.. both very gritty and play all-out on every play.. I'd have to give the edge to Pedroia right now.. He's been absolutely on fire lately.. Definitely my favorite player on the Sox..

i cant choose betwwen the two. so i pick theo and the sox scouts for drafting the both of them in the first place.

It really is hard to pick between the two, but does Lester get any consideration? He has a 12-5 record and at some points has had to be the go to guy on the staff when Dice-K was down and Beckett was no help.

I'd throw Drew in there too. Yeah he's been injured but he carried the team through a large part of the season.

Probably lean towards Youk though.

Duquette drafted Youk.

It's a toss up right now between Youk and Pedroia. Neither have a shot of winning league MVP though.

I think they both give they're heart and soul 100% of the time. I'd have a hard time choosing between them. I had a chuckle last night watching that little **** Pedroia swing the bat in the on deck circle with Papi hitting in front of him. 4 for 4 again. Amazing!

27 games left, 18 at home. Should be fun watching these 2 guys swing the bats. But don't forget Dice K's importance. 16-2...+14 win differential...that is huge. Unfortunately his walks get more attention than his era...2.82. The guy practices the "lost art of pitching" . He sacrifices pitches and at bats to face easier matchups. Sure, his style can be infuriating to the eye, but the results speak volumes.

Tough call, but Pedroia is the man of the hour. Do you rememeber last season, when everyone was on him after his slow start? Then he becomes ROY and is a legit MVP candidate. Ozzie Guillen says he fears Pedy as much as any hitter in baseball. Like Youk, I never thought he would be this good. They're both clutch, fearless, and defensive saviors.

are you sure about that? if so nice job by dan duquette.

Youk was indeed drafted by Duquette. Pedroia was a sandwich pick by Theo, that was somewhat criticized if I remember it right. People were wondering why a 5'6 SS with no arm was being drafted so high. I guess those people know why now.

As for which player, sheesh, they're both terrific. Flip a coin, they're both that good. Interestingly enough, I'm a Yankees fan, and I can't stand either player. They both have personalities that you hate when they play for the competition, but love when they're on your team. DP, from my side of the field, comes across as a real jerk. I say this as a fan, and not cuz I don't think either is a bad player. They're both terrific, clutch, intense players. They're like Paul O'Niell was. Everyone who wasn't a Yankees fan, hated PO, but they all respected his ability. Same goes for me with these two guys. Most of my friends who are Yankees fans say the same things. They'll say "that F'ing Youk, I hate that F'in loser....he is F'in good though".

They're both terrific players. DR amazes me in the sense that you can't throw to any weakness. I've seen him hit balls by his eyes into the Monsta, and pitches in the dirt for doubles down the line. I wish they both sucked, but they don't.

Love Youk, but after reading the article in the Globe about Ozzie Guillen's comments for Pedy and Pedy's rebuttal:During this series Guillen engaged Pedroia during batting practice. Asked about it, Pedroia quipped, "I couldn't understand what he was saying."

I have to go woth Pedroia on this one.:D
