Re: OT:Favre cant stop talking

‘We want to do something special for you, and what do you think if we …’ and these were his words exactly, ‘dismantle your locker and send it to you.’

I was like, ‘What the hell are you talking about?

Heh.

Re: OT:Favre cant stop talking

I have to say, I favor the Pats method of leaving lockers of honored players open, rather the Packers new policy of trading away both the locker and the player.

Re: OT:Favre cant stop talking

Favre hasn't been there long and he's already a true Jet.

Re: OT:Favre cant stop talking

The team tried to paint him as the bad guy and he's pointing out the kind of bull**** they were pulling, so it's Favre who's the bad guy?

i maybe in the minority but i actuallly believe he is the ´bad guy' .Every discussion he has with the packers even after they tell him its confidential is texted to ed werder and ESPN. everything they talked is heard in detail through favre. its onesided. why should i believe him. Above all why does he think he privleged and the packers owe him something ? did he play for free ?
For 4 yrs he has been holding that team hostage effecting their draft. If he so much ĺoved to play'as everyone claims why didnt he offer the packers a pay cut to compromise for his late reversal to play as a gesture ? no . instead in case you didnt read, his agent wanted MORE MONEY from the jets when he was traded !!
last time he went to gb to report to TC he said , he told mcarthy it would be unfair to aaron rodgers now if he played in camp and he deserves it so they should release him. now he says this .
think about this...how many jobs he thought he owned to destroy.
chad pennington
aaron rodgers
jeff garcia.
constantly mentioning vikings must have made tavaris jackson feel like ****.Dont tell me its a business...if so then what the packers did was also the same.
it is all about freaking money. all the sh**t about he loves to the play the game like a school boy is media created bull**** which he thrives on.

You do realize that the reason we know all the things Favre supposedly did (the retire/not retire stuff) is because the team was talking, right?

As for wanting more money, more power to him.

.
not necessarily..remember how this all started ? ¨mortenson reports that favre has an itch to play ¨ which he then denies it through other newspapers although it is true. favre played his game via the media because he know no one in the media will write anything -ve abt him. he uses his ¨iam a southern boy "image to act live some naive fellow but in essence is as scheming as anyone
about the money, sure more power to him , just dont expect the packers to pay that whenu come back 1 week before TC or claim that you love the game so much that you cant stay away. if the jets had asked him to take a paycut and offered him 6 mill you think he wouldve played ?he would applied some medication on his ítch´ and sat at home.

Re: OT:Favre cant stop talking

Yeah, he is. Actually, what he is is more a self absorbed jerk.

"Favre also recounted his conversations with McCarthy, saying to the New York Daily News that when he first told the Packers’ coach of his intention to return, the response was: “Oh, God, Brett, you’re putting us in a tight spot.”

And Favre, to this day, isn’t sure why McCarthy thinks that — because Favre still thinks he would have been better for the Packers this season than Aaron Rodgers.

“I think Aaron Rodgers will do a real good job, barring injury,” Favre said, “but if you’re a betting man and said, ‘Who gives us the best chance to win right now?’ … This isn’t bragging :)rolleyes:), but I think I would. Aaron may play great, and they’ll look like geniuses, but to not welcome me back … I just assumed it was the fear of upsetting Aaron..."

He just resides in his own universe where it's naturally always all about him... He remains so pissed that they dared to think you could actually move on from Lord Favre. These are the same guys who didn't kick his sorry ass to the curb in 2005 or 2006 when he was abyssmal and had just cost their predecessor his job, didn't tell him to shut his trap when he started whining about not signing Moss FOR HIM, and who let him come back with their rebuilt roster in 2007 because he wanted to and promised he'd actually study film for once rather than sleeping through it, who told him to take his time in March and they'd let him skip the film if that helped him get through the season, who offered to let him un-retire two weeks after he retired only to have him CONFIRM he'd rather stay retired, who offered him $20M in July to just do what he said he wanted to do!!!

Re: OT:Favre cant stop talking

Neither of them are "bad guys." The Packers feel the need to move on and are jumping at the chance to do so because they think their team might be better off. I don't necessarily agree but I haven't been watching Aaron Rodgers in camp for 3 years.

Brett Favre feels the need to play again. Fine. There is no law against un-retiring. This very team has benefited immensely from one "graduated" player (Junior Seau) whose indecision was a lot less messy because no other team was controlling his contract at the time. I don't necessairly agree with everything Brett Farve does or says, but he had to shoot his way out of town.

All the rest is just the situation working itself out.

Farve and/or the Farve minions started talking long before the Packers did - in self defense.

No, he isn't. And blaming Favre for the loss of the coach is just silly.

way to throw aaron rodgers under the bus and air his show in the media. i really hate him now...

Reality check. Bribe...bribe...bribe. I have never seen an instance where a team tried to stop a player from playing...anywhere...at all. The Packers have not only burned a bridge with a highly marketable player (they claimed poverty last year by the way) but they ended up looking completely foolish. They threw themselves under the bus.

The fact that he's still talking about it 6 weeks later on the eve of the season proves who the self absorbed jerk was and still is in all this.

He almost took the money, too, until Badell talked him out of it... They were trying to save his Lambeau legacy. All Brett really wants is attention. When the JETS fans who were his third choice wake up to that fact they're gonna be pissed. But then that's their deluded karma. Just as it's their karma that each regime totally screws the pooch reaching for the ellusive brass ring just before they exit a franchise in disarray.

Not to worry, the NY Media will turn on him soon enough, just as the people of Rome would turn on an Emperor who failed to placate their every whim and desire.

I can't wait to see how Lord Favre reacts when the veil falls away from his innocent eyes and he realises that the NY press are NOT his ball washers.

Get yer popcorn ready. I suspect that the fireworks will start quite soon after our week 3 meeting with the Jets.

Re: OT: Favre cant stop talking

I love all of this!!! I don't care who said what first or anything. The Packers are a franchsie that I am indifferent to so I don't care about them. Farve now plays for our hated rival so I want him to shoot his mouth off at every opportunity. Distraction for Farve is good, controversy that does not involve us after last year, is great!
There is a good chance that this thing blows up in the Jets face. If Farve plays more like its 2005-06 than 2007, the NY media will roast him. It could turn ugly really fast.
NY Jets you piece of $%#@ franchise. May this toxic stew help get that ********* coach of your fired!!!

Re: OT:Favre cant stop talking

First off, Favre is the bad guy and he's trying to paint the team as the ones who were bad.

1) Favre is the one who told the team, "I'm done," had a huge press conference, and filed his papers.

2) The team, in an attempt to keep him in the organization, offered him a very lucrative contract (in the neighborhood of 20 million) for him to stay and be in their marketing department and be an ambassador to their fans. Favre told them "No thanks. I need to take time off and spend it with my family."

3) The Packers moved on, as they should. They gave the mantle to the guy they drafted to replace Favre 4 years ago. What are they supposed to do? Welcome Favre back with open arms and basically tell Rodger, "Sorry kid, we just don't trust you." Hell no.

4) Favre is all about himself. Not about what was good for the Packers. As I've stated, Favre was the reason that the Packers got tossed from the play-offs each of the last 3 times they went. He had to try and prove he knew better than the coaches. And what happened. 3 losses.

5) Are for "this bull*** the team was pulling," we only have "Lord" Favre's word for it. And his word isn't worth a damn.
