Wide receiver
Sam Aiken, Jabar Gaffney, Chad Jackson, C.J. Jones, Randy Moss, Ray Ventrone, Kelley Washington, Wes Welker

Quick hit: Ventrone and Jones scrap their way onto the roster in surprising fashion, with Ventrone's all-around play providing added value and Jones' speed on special teams helping his cause. The extra bodies could be a sign that Wes Welker (ribs) won't be ready for the opener.

Aiken and Washington are strictly special teams guys, so that brings us down to 6. CJ Jones also can Punt and Kick return and Ventrone is an all around football player. So maybe not as high as it looks, maybe BB kept the best players regardless of what position we think they play.

Could be - but with Faulk out it could be they want CJ Jones around to help on returns in addition to taking Welker off punt returns for a week. They could then cut CJ and maybe re-sign to PS. What Reiss said is possible but certainly no more than speculation.

It's a long season and Welker is one of the more valuable offensive players. They'll be cautious with him. Faulk's suspension gives them a roster spot for a week. I only hope Jones can learn to make good decisions with the ball.

Another brilliant move by Bill Belicheck to put Welker on punt return duties in a meaningless pre-season game.

with both Welker and Faulk out it appears that Brady has no safety valve to just dump the ball off. He might use Lamont Jordan, but I think this is a huge opportunity for Ventrone to be that guy on underneath routes and get YAC.

I hope the Pats utlize him

I really hope the kid stays ... he has some serious athletic ability...I'm anxious to see what coaching will do for him.

I like CJ, he just makes too many mistakes. With all the WR we kept I think he'll be the one to go but will get a job on our PS if unclaimed.

maybe you should call bob kraft and tell him you can do a better job

Another no so smart comment by you and it's Belichick. 3 SB rings buddy and no other coach I would rather have. Welker needed the work since he had missed all of camp till that week and it's football so injuries are a part of the game.

you have to understand that he is a poster on a message board, he must know more about football than people who have dedicated their lives to playing and coaching it

Of course he does:)

No, we don't.

You said "we might" use him. My answer to you was, no might about it, we *will* use him.

If you're gonna call people names, please make sure you understand the grammar of your own language. Because English is my third language, and it would appear that I understand those nuances better than you do.:singing::eek::D
