The Patriots will finalize their 53-man roster later today, and veteran offensive lineman Mike Flynn is not in the mix.

"I talked with Scott Pioli and the short time that Mike was there, it went well," said Flynn's agent, Ralph Cindrich. "Mike really liked it a lot. It's been an excellent experience. When the dust is lifted we'll see where things are."

Flynn is the type of player who could always return to the Patriots. One aspect to keep in mind is that veterans on the opening-day roster are fully guaranteed their salary.

So much for this bold statement, on this blog, regarding Flynn (see second item) having presumably locked up a roster spot.

One possible rosy interpretation: Hochstein's ok.

Ventrone is not only going to back up Brady but he is going to be a special asst. to BB.

indianapols will scoop him up to replace saturday

Superb point cousin.
Colts will grab him. Can we trade him to Indy? Can't see how Flynn is not better than Yates or Connelly.

Now here is the clandestine side of all this. The Steelers are looking to trade an O-Lineman. OT Max Starks is supposedly on the block in Pittsburgh. He was a starting Left Tackle. I believe he was kept over Fanecca and paid big $. He's young at 5 years in the NFL and huge. Do you think there is this movement among the Pats O-linemen roster to do a trade and make him a RT? If not, why not? He should be an upgrade over Kaczur and move Nick to left guard. But.....his suspension looms! Max Starks anyone?

OR....The Steelers lost a backup LB Harrison the last pre-season game. Maybe a Hobson for Starks? Could try Alexander.

we had already signed him before saturday got hurt he wont sign back here

His agent said this:
"I talked with Scott Pioli and the short time that Mike was there, it went well," said Flynn's agent, Ralph Cindrich. "Mike really liked it a lot. It's been an excellent experience. When the dust is lifted we'll see where things are."
It sounds to me like he'll be back.

Ok, ok, ok... I looked around and just seem to have disconnected (leaving for Toronto in a few minutes, might have skimmed too fast)...

Why will he be back? What did who say about how?

Can anyone link me or quote it? Thanks guys.
