Just heard Kevin Faulk was suspended one game and fined two paychecks for violating the league's Substance Abuse Policy. He'll be eligible to return to the team Week 2 versus the Jets.

I'll edit with a link as soon as I find it.

If he's going to miss a game, it may as well be against KC.

Re: Kevin Faulk suspended, fined

It's an offense to any football fan that Pacrat Jones will be playing next week and K. Faulk will not. The Doofus never ceases to amaze.

Re: Kevin Faulk suspended, fined

How is it goodell at fault when he broke the league's substance abuse policy? :confused:Thats not a rule open for interpretation penalty wise.

Some fans here think our organization is above punishment, so sad

I agree but the policy is wrong. You can run around punching women in the face but smoking weed gets you suspended. That's some pretty poor prioritizing. I don't really blame Goodell in this situation though.

In all fairness, Faulk's suspension is consistent with other penalties levied by the facist commissioner.

It does blow my mind that Faulk and that nutbag Brandon Marshall are getting essentially equal punishment, given that Marshall made the papers virtually every other week this offseason.

I agree with that sentiment. Pacman Jones should not be back in the league, even my own Justin Miller didnt see a second of suspension and he punched a woman in the face.

Mods - Deus and I posted at the same time; can you please merge?

On a side note, this does mean that one player gets to stay on the roster for an additional week, which could be beneficial in stashing away a player to the PS that would have otherwise been picked up by another team after today's cuts.

I agree.

If a player violates a policy, there should be consequences (yes, that includes Patriots' players). I am more dissapointed in players that violate the rules, not the commissioner for enforcing them.

You do know Pacman Jones is coming off a one year suspension right?

ABSURD....

So....I can punch women in the face no problem, I can take all the pain pills known to man (as provided by the team, not Nick style), but pot = suspension.

WHACKED,

Also, wouldn't this mean Kazcur serves a one game suspension as well, or is OK to consume hundreds of Oxycontin but not one joint??

I won't even get started on Pacman or the stupid commissioner.

Did they change the drug policy to call for 1 game suspension and 2 game check fines? I don't recall seeing that.

Yes, that is precisely what everyone who posted on this prior to your brilliance was saying, Kreskin.

Yeah it's not like we can stand up and defend Kevin's actions. Some think everything is relative and if player A does this then player B should be able to do that. The commish makes the rulings and he's also the guy that hands out that nice shiny Lombardi at the end of the year so unless people want to boycott the league we will have to accept his decisions.

Guys, we all knew that a suspension was a possibility. Let's all be thankful that it's just for ONE GAME and move on. "He did the crime, and he must do the time."

Yes, that was what most were implying......

No, it's not. And, given that I was one of the alleged 'most', I would have more insight to that than you would. What you inferred and what was implied are two different things.

I thought substance abuse was an automatic 4 games. That's what it used to be, right?

you said "the Commissioner needs to go" - which implies that you thought there should be less punishment, if any. So which was it?
