Maroney looked the worst of all the backs in the Giants game and that includes Green-Ellis. He still does that little slide step to the side that stops his momentum. The other backs make cuts into the hole but they don't lose speed and momentum, he always ends up practically stationary. I am down on him. I say trade him and Chad Jackson for a football player and lets get on with it.

Okay, I am now officially dumber. Thanks.

The OP does have a point though. Maroney does have a tendency to dance way too much. I admit this event though I am still high on the guy. He is like night and day. Some games he will stink up the field. Other games, he will do the exact opposite and light it up.

Maroney does have issues but don't worry we have Lamont Jordan who will shine in this offense relegating Maroney to backup duties.

One can only hope.

No Way! Maroney is the best back in the NFL. The only reason he is "dancing" is to show of his foot work skills. I suspect when the pats start trying, and the starters decide to play ball, the pats roll to 19 - 0 no prob!

I think Belichick is telling Maroney to dance, and the defensive line to stink it up, so we can fool other teams into thinking we have lost a step!

It's to easy:banned:

I'm officially giving up on this board until the first game.

Getting hit in the backfield a millisecond after a hand-off is not 'dancing'.

selective memory. Yes they all get nailed in the backfield sometimes, that just means Maroney doesn't have time to slip and slide. I think that will be his new nickname- SLIDE

as long as it isn't glass

i can't handle that again

Hey "ScottieC" why not stick to the threads that make you happy?

Because he comes in here expecting a logical explanation of the thread title followed with a good debate and the only thing he gets is pure ******ation.

uhh, in the game I watched last night Marony didn't do any dancing, he was swarmed by like 4 giants by the time he even touched the ball. After him it was Sammy Morris rushing for next to nothing and after that Jordan for next to nothing. they didn't move anywhere on the ground until like just before the half when Jordan started getting some yards off. now I could go into the whole thing about what string D was on the field at what time and such like that but it's pre-season, so I'll skip it....

O-Linemen hate blocking for backs like Maroney ... they like a guy who pounds the hole. They don't like to block for backs like Maroney because it makes them hold their blocks too long leading to breakdowns. Maroney would be so much better if he just shot the gaps and took what was there.

The real problem with Maroney isn't his dancing. It's that he's MADE OF GLASS.

Get it straight!

That's my point!
