Coming from a New York or Indianapolis columnist I could see and even expect this type of article but from the Lowell,Mass Sun it is a bit surprising, especially since the team has not yet played a real down in the 2008 regular season.

Re: Sorry, Patriots Dynasty is Over

"I don't care how good the record is this year (13-3 at worst, the way I see it)."

So basically the Patriots are going to be really good, but the whole point of the article is that the NFL no longer "fears" the Patriots because they missed going 19-0 by 3 points. Apparently you have to go undefeated to be a scary team, and you have to be scary to be a dynasty.

Teddy Panos must post on this board.

DUMB, DUMB, DUMB. he really lost his argument when he said the giants were the worst superbowl winners in history......did he forget the bears? good for manning finally getting his ring, but anybody in the afc wouldve beaten the bears that year.

Um, the Bears lost.

Re: Sorry, Patriots Dynasty is Over

All he's basically saying is that most teams now figure that the Patriots are beatable, and that's pretty much true, for the most part.

I do agree with this statement.

Will you ever again approach a game with the same ****iness you did Feb. 3, 2008?

Re: Sorry, Patriots Dynasty is Over

Sounds like a chicken little to me. Or a troll. What the hell is with the comic book comparison anyway? Is he really that dumb?

Actually, what it sounds like he's TRYING to say is that the Patriots' air of invincibility is gone, that the "mystique" is gone. That the team that always finds a way to win, hasn't been able to do it for the last three years.

I think what's lost on him is perspective. Winning the Super Bowl in three out of four years is no easy task, and we take that for granted sometimes. It's very hard. One bad performance and a year's worth of preparation goes down the tubes. That's how it is.

But to hell with that "dynasty is over" crap. The Patriots are going to have a great chance at a Super Bowl every year as long as the Brady/Belichick/Pioli team is intact.

I don't agree with this statement:

"only two weeks after a San Diego team with a one-legged quarterback and running back came into Gillette and nearly shaved the zero from the loss column."

Look, San Diego is a good team, but they didn't come close to winning the AFC Championship. The Pats ended that game by grinding out the last 9 minutes of clock in a drive that squeezed the life out of the Chargers. It wasn't like it ended on a FG or a miracle play.

Just because you don't beat a team by 30 points, it doesn't mean you almost lost. The Chargers are a good team, but there was no doubt who was better on that day.

And how many TD's did the Chargers get that game on our haggard old D?

27 comments and ZERO credible points in his entire article.

Superman? Men of Steel?? Boy wonder?? Fear itself??

None of those things are real and nothing matters except the game they are playing in and the play they are executing at the moment. NE knows thi better than any team I have ever followed.

Had they executed the way they were capable of in AZ, Indy & Denver the last three seasons, they would be going on their 7th ring right now.

Nobody knows how they will fare this year, but, given reasonable health, I do think they will go very far, one play at a time and most likely will prevail at the end, again, finally. I don;t see any team nearly as deep, talented and as strong.

Now if the writer would have dealt with real points, maybe he could have been credible.

Did you happen to read some of those comments from what appears to have been comments coming from a school computer of the home of illiterates?

I like the very first comment which says...
"The Patriots are not going to be in the Super Ball for a very long time"

Wasn't the Super Ball was one of those things that you got in the 70s in one of those 10 cent vending machines that you bounced against the wall? :)

I can't agree on that because if Ladanian was not a crybaby sitting on the bench and instead was at full strength and Antonio Gates was on the field the Patriots would have been in for a very good fight.

Heh. :)

BTW--you might want to add quotes to your title, so that people know that isn't your opinion, unless it really is.

Garbage, coming for a fellow Greek I'm really dissapointed. Teddy P. get a clue. I guess that's why he writes for the Lowell Sun and not a real paper.

Good lord. Boston has, by far, the worst local media I have ever seen.

I know but I wanted to get alot of hits to the thread just like the moron who wrote the article is getting now ;)

Re: Sorry, Patriots Dynasty is Over

A poorly-written article, but his thesis is not without some merit.

Re: Sorry, Patriots Dynasty is Over

The only thing that made the AFCCG close was Cromartie's int in the end zone. Pats dominated the game and controlled the clock for NINE 4th qtr minutes. Rivers was hurt?

Well... so wasn't Tom Terrific. Besides, "LT" didn't do squat the previous two games but he would have been Superman?

It's called the playoffs. Usually the 12 best teams make the playoffs and the better teams go deeper in the playoffs. Better teams tend to provide better competition.

It's like the guy at Fox Sports writing McNabb will be MVP. Why because all he has done is lose and get injured for the past 3 years?

The "Loser of the Super Bowl" theory is also pretty stupid. Go back to Denver 1998 and see how the WINNERS have fared. The only perrenial contender has been the Pats.

Re: Sorry, Patriots Dynasty is Over

absurd. this is getting absurd.

they won 18 straight games last season. 18. yes they lost the super bowl. it was painful. but lets get a grip here.
