Roster to be trimmed to 75
Posted by Mike Reiss, Globe Staff

NFL teams must trim their rosters from 80 to a maximum of 75 by 4 p.m. today.

Speaking during his regularly scheduled Monday appearance on WEEI, Patriots coach Bill Belichick hinted that a few of the roster moves might be injury-related, which could mean that some players land on season-ending injured reserve.

Here are a few of the players who have not practiced of late who potentially might fall into that category:

CB Mike Richardson

RB Kyle Eckel

OT Ryan O'Callaghan

DL Le Kevin Smith

I was thinking about that too last night. I'm surprised that Sam Aiken is not on that list.

Le Kevin Smith? When did this happen?

Good question. I could have sworn that I saw him play against the Eagles.
He didn't practice yesterday though, so maybe there is something going on there.

The first practice he missed was the 12th..so maybe something happened in the first preseason game or at practice on the 11th...He's been out since then...

You must have seen Kenny Smith.

Ah, you might be right. I have to admit that I haven't really been giving the D-line much attention. After watching Cassel play, I tend to lose focus when the defense is on the field.

I think they like Ryan O'Callaghan, I just don't see him being cut.

I expect to drive home from work today. I expect the sun to set in the west this evening. I expect the Pats to cut/IR players today.

you should have more time to focus on them, considering there out there so much (when cassel plays).

No one is suggesting he will be. That list was of players who haven't practiced lately, and might end up on IR, not cut.

Cuts will be made at 4 P.M. and announced at 8 P.M. to keep us

waiting.

Something tells me they're not worried about the few psychotic fans who spend their evening twisting over roster spots 76-80.
Edit: present company included :)

I know, but I spend a lot of time *****ing about his level of play with my fellow Pats fans who watch the game at my house. Cassel's ears must have been ringing on the sidelines after he left the game. It got really UGLY at my house. I'm sure most of you had the same sentiments. I can't even repeat some of the things that were said. I'm really starting to feel bad for him.

Haha. Still feels like spring. GRRRR... GIMME SOME FRGGIN' FOOTBALL ALREADY!!!

So cuts, reports... anything, I'll take it.

And in any case, it's cheaper than street drugs to be Pat's/FB junkie.

I think every member of this forum is psychotic in their passion for

the Patriots.

Are all the bandwagoners (who didn't really know what they were getting into) gone now?
