Mortensen: Brady has deep bone bruise

He is the starter for KC.

Call me Ms Skeptical, but I doubt that anyone in the organization is tell Mort or anyone else what is wrong with Brady's foot.

AMEN. Mort is from ESPN, that is the last NETWORK on the planet that the Patriots would give any injury news to. ESPN knows NOTHING about the Patriots.

That link takes you to a page with all TB's career stats.
Pretty amazing when you think about it.
Up to 07 he already had solid stats.
Always over 60% completion percentage.
Interceptions never even close to his TD ratio.(Hello Brett Favre)
Averaged about 22-23 TDs a year
Averaged about 3700 yards a year.
Couple that with the 3 SB victories and 2 SB MVPs and he's already a HoF lock.
Than along comes Randy Moss and look at those solid numbers turn into astounding. His hi mark for TDs was 28, which he did twice. In 07 he nearly doubled that number with 50. His hi mark for yardage was 4110 in 05. In 07 it was 4806....and his 8 ints were a career low by 4. What's that 50% reduction?!.
Couple that with the fact that he led his team to be the first team in NFL history to go 18-0 and with all the offensive records broken, you could say that TB is a HoF lock with that year alone. The Hof will have to build The Tom Brady Wing before Tom, Randy, Bill and the Patriots are through.

Ain't no deep heel bruise gonna stop this kid from more glory.:D

If this injury was really that serious, Brady would not be practicing at all and doing the things that Reiss reported he was doing today.

300 yards, 3 TDs, 0 INTs vs KC on Sept 7th, then all of this can be over

450 yards, 5 tds, 0 ints would shut them up more.;)

I've read so much of this speculation that I forgot where I read this. He supposedly said that it happened in practice when by a falling player, he got accidentally kicked.

So the bone bruise seems to be right if what I remember he supposedly said is right.

Well then we need to know is it a Wilfork induced bruise or a James Sanders induced bruise ... 100lbs + or - ;)

Rodney stared at it and the bruise followed.

He needs to buy a calcium supplement.

Just thinking outloud again.

Doesn't a deep bone bruise have a small chance of being re injured? I have no idea.

And if that is true, isn't there injections they could give him to numb up the soreness?

This sounds like great news for the Pats.

Yeah, it is good news. Much better than a stress fracture (which needs to be rested to heal) or a ligament tear (which usually needs surgery), which were what others have speculated. Deep bone bruises on the foot hurt, they're sore, they suck, but professionals have access to injections and whatnot to take care of that and they heal naturally and have an almost non-existent chance of being re-injured.

Like others have said, he probably got his foot stepped on by a big guy. Everyone's had it happened, you hobble for a few days.

Just speculating, but I bet it doesn't even bother him anymore. The team was probably nervous about the possibility of a stress fracture and that's why they kept him out.

Sit him on Thurs and let him continue to rest... Then let him rip up the Chiefs defense for 3 quarters and sit the 4th quarter then the season begins against the jets...:D

Maybe Giselle kicked him for accidently calling her Bridgette?

You may be onto something. First Romo, now TB... those hot chicks need to be careful with the bones of our QBs.

Rumor is it happened when Tom and Giselle visted a state Park in Kentucky:

Big Bone Lick Park (a real place) is on Beaver Road, not far from Beaver Lick (yes, another real place). Yes, trips to Big Bone Lick sometimes require you to pass through Beaver Lick.

;)

The bad

A deep bone bruise can always recur.

The Good

A steroid shot will take care of it for 24 hrs.
My guy has had one for years. If it flairs up
before a tournament (beach volleyball) he
gets a shot of Prednisone? and it sees him through
most of the tournament. If he is in the Final (Sun.)
he sometimes gets another shot. But he is able to play!
And sometimes win LOL.
