God I love Belichick. :)

ABBOUD WILL PROVIDE OFF-FIELD ATTIRE FOR MOST COACHES
Posted by Mike Florio on August 25, 2008, 12:51 p.m. EDT

NFL coaches generally aren’t permitted to wear suits on the field, with some exceptions. Moving forward, it appears that NFL coaches might be forced to get gussied up when not on the sidelines.

Joseph Abboud’s JA Apparel Corp. has inked a three-year deal with the NFL Coaches Club to outfit 31 of the 32 head coaches with ”tailored clothing, dress shirts and ties and dress sportswear” for the next three years.

“The NFL is the most popular sport now and it’s completely American,” JA Apparel CEO Marty Staff said. “It all works. All of our competitors are European and this is really a point of departure for us. Also, we love guys who are 35 to 54. We’re not a metrosexual company.”

It’s unclear whether the coaches will be required to wear Abboud clothing when traveling to and from games, or when appearing at post-game press conferences.

The only coach to whom the deal doesn’t apply is — you guessed it — the man who wears a hoodie with the bottoms of the sleeves ripped off.

Now I know why I like this guy so much. He's secretly a teen-aged non-comformist rock n' roller.

I think Bill should get one of those suits, rip the sleeves off and sew a hood on it.

As long as BB never wears that red hoodie again, I'll be happy.

Bill Belichick, the final bastion of self expression among NFL head coaches flatly refused to participate in the Coach's Club "Tom Landry" look alike contest. To further enhance his desire for veteran sweatshirts, coach Belichick sent a box filled with sleeves to the club labeled. "Do not open until February".

Apparently, Belichick didn't like Joseph Abboud's line of dress hoodies.

This is just great to read and brought a big smile into my dull day today. :D

And I am elated that BB is the only guy who stood against the mighty league and asked them to take a walk. (Edit: well, I don't know about that and in all probability BB forgot to send his papers agreeing to get suited up...but what the heck.)

go BB!! He :rocker:

:D

Exactly. That red one looked ugly too. The grey one is just great... especially with a little ole dirt on it.

Thats a hoot all right... I'd love to know how that came about.

I think it actually has more to do with Belichick not being part of the NFL Coaches Club or whatever that equivalent to the NFLPA for coaches is. Same reason why he is never in any EA games. I recall Parcells was the same way ...

Coming soon to stores near you, Bill Belichick's "Regular Guy Look" :D

- Hey, Bill! Joseph Abboud just signed a deal with the NFL for post-game suits. Every coach has to get fitted before the first regular season game. When should I pencil you in?

- I'm not doing that. *walks off*

That's probably how it went down.

haha... sounds dead on.

I don't think this is an issue of BB being specifically against suits.

BB is not in the NFL Coaches Club.

So when they ink the deal it didn't apply to him. That is true of every deal NFL Coaches Club makes.

Why you gotta spoil our fun? :(

He wore it one day last week, I saw a press conference with him wearing it.

As for the thread - I'm wearing my Belichick hoodie today so it was a good choice :)

This is the closest i could get with
Joeseph Abood sleeveless apparel.
