Interesting stat - Last 2 SB winners were 1-3 in preseason - 26 years since 0-4

You have to go back 26 years to the year of 1982 when the 0-4 preseason Washington Redskins won the Super Bowl while the last 2 SB champions Indy and the Giants were 1-3 in preseason - Maybe winning this upcoming game means more if you are concerned by this stat.

While this is only a stat and meaningless to some, its interesting to see that as long as 26 years have gone by without a team having a 0-4 preseason winning it all - Thats a pretty scary thought and one that I would rather see avoided by at least an uplifting meaningless win this week.

After seeing that stat,I sure want to see our guys play like it means something,Of course it will probably be an all scrub bowl and not exactly a reunion of the 2 teams from the SB but I would like to see 1-3 record when the game is over, maybe there is a trend or streak with these 1-3 teams ;)

This means nothing. Like most stats.

Didn't the Pats go 4-0 in the preseason that year?

That's a completely meaningless and stupid stat too - all it shows is that there's absolutely no correlation between the pre-season and regular/postseason

It means nothing. We're already 0-3, to suggest that whether we win this week or not has any bearing on winning the Super Bowl is just silly.

It's interesting, just not necessarily predicative.

And when was the last time a team's starting quarterback didn't take ONE snap in a preseason game?

During the Bills, Colts half time, Mora said that the Colts since 2005 have been 3-13 in preseason.
