In the aftermath of a gloomy and doomy looking preseason and going into week 4, I think we as fans can find a few guys that have impressed us during the 3 beatings on the preseason scoreboard.

The three guys I look at as impressive are...

Steven Gostkowski who has looked strong and accurate in most FG attempts

Jerod Mayo- While he has had some problems as rookies do like coming off of blocks and stuff like that, he has shown very smart presence to where the ball is on the field and has been showing some good speed in getting to the ball carrier and seldom has he missed a tackle,He could be among the top leading tacklers on the team in his rookie season

Chris Hanson - We have been down on this guy last year but he has shown some nice kicks and I think the Punter position is in good hands right now,As we well know he has had lots of practice so far,Lets hope he is invisible shortly and not needed :)

I could name a few others but these guys have been the best so far in a horrid team exhibition IMO

Not to rain on your parade, but Hanson screwed up big last night. You might want to replace him with someone else.

if we're restricting the discussion to just the exhibition games, then Crable should get a mention, despite only playing 2nd stringers

I agree on Gostowski and Mayo, but after last night Hanson is off the list. In his place I would probably put Ventrone.

Didn't watch a quarter of the game,Thats when I probably missed that . .but eh,what the hell, I will give him a pass on one blunder since there have been a preseason full of them on the team ;)

Your choice, but he failed to kick a punt out of bounds as he was told to by BB, and the result was a punt return for a TD.

You can blame Hanson for that mistake but you can also blame the other guys on the team called 'special teams' players that let that guy run wild for the TD and forgot how to tackle or beat their blocker.

Hanson could possibly see some competition brought in this week. I've rarely seen BB get that mad at any player on the sidelines. It would not surprise me at all if they work out a punter.

I'd replace him with Crable who has looked like a guy who might contribute this year as a situational rusher. That would exceed realistic expectations for him this year.

I think it might be easier to list the guys that disappointed:

1. Cassel.

it's kind of depressing when 2 out of the 3 are special teams players.

Could this mean the return of Drago? LOL.

1- Mayo
1A- Wilfork

I'd put these other dudes under "caught my eye" more so than "impressed me"

2- Woods
3- Crable
4- Wheatley
5- Ventrone
6- The O-Line (since the first game debacle, Dante has gotten all the new guys to blend in pretty well)
7- Guyton, Ruud and Slater on ST's

Have left me unimpressed-

Hobson - my nickname for him is "Mr. Invisible"
Cassel - get thee to a nunnery!
The CB's - but this is hard to tell because they are not being let loose at all
Jackson - pretty dull considering his 3rd year status. However, Cassel has sucked so badly that all of the WR's have a bit of an excuse.

BB took the blame for that kick last night.

Does that surprise you? Go look at the replay and read the lips.

Tom Brady, Odalius Thomas, and Matt Light. :D
