To me, the biggest question mark facing this team is not the status of the quarterback, or the backup quarterback, or the secondary, but the offensive line.

when will Matt Light be back? That's the question I have been asking myself. Does anyone here know what his injury status is? I haven't heard anything about him from the media (nor of course, the team).

Steven Neal is recovering from a knee and offseason shoulder surgery, so we can expect him to start the season on PUP. So, assuming (big assumption, I know) Light can get back to his LT position by week 1 or at least soon after the start of the regular season what is the status of our O-line then?

We would have our starting O-line from last year back together with the exception of RG. Hochstein would be our first backup, but he is out too. So that leaves - Britt? Yates (who has been hurt in preseason too)? Who?

Without Light, however, we are in big trouble. (I think this shows a lot of people who like to knock him when he gives up a sack to a Jason Taylor how valuable Matt really is.)

Well, there's your problem. You're asking the wrong guy, lol.

I agree though, this mystery is unnerving. But maybe it's better than the way the Colts report over-optimistically only to leave everyone flabbergasted at the facts.

Obviously at this point he's not going to make it back for the last preseason game, which is ok. But I think we'd all like to see him practice a little this week and get a solid week in before the opener. I agree this is the biggest question mark right now with the team heading into the season. This is especially true with pressure / blitzing teams like San Diego and the Jets on the early schedule.

i don't think any one is seriously injured. i think BB is resting as many guys as possible for next year's super bowl push. our oline couldn't handle the giants more athletic defensive front by the season's end.

There was a post last night that Light has been around the lockerroom and is itching to get back in. So it should be sooner rather than later. Hopfully VERY soon.

I agree I don't think any are seriously injured..but if you really think during these preseason games he's just keeping all the players out for rest,,I think the boat has already sailed and you missed it. He certainly keeps vets out from time to time in training canp...one session here there..but NOT for extended periods of time. This team has had many injuries, especially to the offensive line. Yes, they are extra careful bringing players back from injuries; that makes sense, but they are not scrimping for linemen because BB wants to rest players..they are brinfing in players like Flynn because they are down 6 linemen and need 10 healthy players for two lines.

Thanks for the replies, gents. (Or ladies and gents?) I am glad to hear Light is not seriously hurt. But, does anyone here know exactly what kind of "ow-ie" he has? Has he been active at all since training camp started?

Also, what happened to Hochstein? Didn't he play in the first preseason game?

It's funny. I have never been a Light fan until I see Wesley Britt get blown by and give up sacks even while holding. Light seems like a god in comparison and we absolutely NEED him back ASAP.
