Let Cassel play with the 1st team for 3 quarters and leave no doubt about his chances as a number 2. Then let Brady play the 4th quarter and hopefully get us a win in addition to some much needed work.

Thoughts?

Playing against the JV is work?????

We know what we have, errr, don't have, in Cassels.

Time to get ready for the season.

Brady only plays with the first OL unit IMO.

I'd rather give Brady a series against the first unit of the eagles. he will not likely play against the Giants but who knows at this point.

I don't think it's a bad idea, maybe swap off on series instead.

Cassel is gone.

How can Brady get us a win in the 4th after Cassel has thrown 7 ints in 3 quarters and we are down by 30?

I would sacrifice the "W" and know that our Franchise, Brady isn't being protected by acollection of washed up veterans and Practice Squad hopefuls. Plus, I think BB already knows if Cassel will be his #2, one way or the other.

Why is it imperative that we win a 'mean nothing in the standings' pre season game?

There are lots of anti-Cassel folks here, but there are a few who think he has done not only afair but actually a yeomen job with what he has been assigned to do.

Fortunately for Cassel there is only one guy who counts; and he has ALREADY decided that Cassel is the #2. (He did not call Vinnie, or trade for Mr. X.)

He might let Cassel play the entire game to get his sealegs. Fot the first time, Cassel will have all the weapons. An almost complete O-line, the RBs and the first string WRs for more than a cameo appearance.

He needs to be rewarded for the tough work of auditioning O linemen and getting killed doing it. He needs to be rewarded for trying to find out if CJax or CJ or Ventrone can be NFL recievers. He needs to retrieve his reputation, lost in this thankless endeavor. While the pieces for the O-line are at hand, they need some playing time together to jell. So more opportunity to take one for the Brady.

Brady plays 3 series with the starting O-line...I would let him test the foot and see how well it responds to a real time game..Bring in Cassell to finish off til half...let Gut play the 3rd and bring in O'Connell for he final Qt.

Why not give gutierrez a chance?

who cares whether we win a preseason game?

Ditto

Preseason = Weeding out the garbage and 'practicing' against another team

Fu(k the preseason - Bring on 18 weeks of REAL games next season and drop 2 of these worthless crap games as proposed by Goodell

2 weeks should be more than enough to unload some of the crap that comes out of college many of who aren't talented enough to play a lick of pro ball or the signees from the streets and send them back to their days jobs as stock clerks at KMart

I don't think the G.O.A.T needs to play at all this preseason. It's still a patchwork offensive line and the Eagles love to blitz. Brady can shake the rust off against the Chiefs. I think a better idea is getting the #2 QB as much game action as possible before the season starts.

Could you be any less respectful? This "garbage" and "crap" is comprised of world class athletes who have almost reached the zenith of their chosen profession, which in itself is a tremendous accomplishment. They're in the top 99th percentile in the world of what they do. Not many of us can say the same thing.

If only someone told them that they would have to work as stock clerks at KMart rather than get jobs just like the rest of us.

Heck, you don't need Brady to do that. Gut and O proved that over the last two games.

:D

Good point, i am pulling for Cassel to do well, forget Brady playing at all, not worth the risk.

I think Cassel needs 3 quarters with the real team before we deem him gone.

3 quarter in one game or 3 more quarter over the enxt two games?

He probably will get 3 quarter tonight, but my opinion is that it is a waste. Give the other two some playing time.
