Wait for it, wait for it...

I know he hasn't been cut yet, but we should bring him in for a visit, ASAP.

Not out of a desire to sign him, but as an act of benevolence and charity: it would be the closest a Dolphin comes to a winning record in 2008.

Yet another in a line of costly, yet unproductive additions the Dolphins have made in the last decade. Like Daunte Culpepper, the Dolphins gave him a very comfortable cushion for him to begin his career as an unproductive journeyman.

Porter is going to find out quick that now that his skills have deteriorated that people don't put up with his loud mouth act for very long. His comments on NFL Live probably didn't sit very well with Parcells since Parcells probably did everything that Porter slammed Belichick about in that segment.

There is nothing worse than a loudmouth jerk on your team who cannot produce.

From today's Miami Herald:

They weren't looking at one another when they spoke Tuesday, instead watching their team run through plays while both stood on the sideline, one man in front of the other, inside the Dolphins' indoor practice facility.
Vice president of football operations Bill Parcells turned his neck and shot a few words toward injured linebacker Joey Porter. Then Porter, who is facing a daily struggle becasue of strange back injury, returned a few thoughts of his own.

It went on for five minutes.

''Basically, he was telling me to stop pouting,'' Porter said. ``He sees me over there frustrated as hell, and he's telling me to stop looking like it's the end of the world. But it's easy to say that to somebody when you're not going through it.

``When something like this happens, it's hard for me to not show that I'm frustrated.''

How is that for a twist? If Parcells' highly publicized history has taught us anything, there would be no reason to expect him to acknowledge Porter at all, let alone tell him to chill out.

Parcells is going to get sick of his act pretty quickly if he isn't already.

"Give it some time..."

Porter is not a Tuna guy, he is also vastly overpaid.

And a total prick to boot.

Remember Oct 31, 2004? "They've never been in our class. Never ever ever ever..." And then the Pats came back to destroy them in the AFCCG. Man was that sweet.

Between this and the Merriman thread, I guess this is loudmouth jackass LB day.

No I just meant, wait for it... somebody'll want the Pats to pick him up...

I think Porter's best career move at this point would be to open a restaurant called Porter's Porters & Porter where they have porterhouse steaks and porter beer.

If my last name was Porter I would actually steal that idea.

Alas...:(

ESPN's moral authority on the bubble? It has to be somebody else's fault. Now he's going to have to go back to sucker-punching guys in strip clubs then gettting his entourage to jump them full-time.

That's a +1!

Porter is a one-trick pony whose loudmouth act wore out its welcome years ago.

You realize that if the dolphins cut porter, a team won't pick him up, ESPN would. He'd fit in perfectly with Tom Jackson, Merril Hodge, Mike Greeny, Mark Sclereth, Trey Wingo...

ESPN hires Patriot haters like Fox News hires Republicans.

Thank God for the eye in the sky. The crap this guys talks you would think he is going to the HOF. Can't hide from the eye in the sky Joey!!

I can see the Jets over paying for this guys.

Sounds like something Mangenius would do...

Yet another in a line of costly, yet unproductive additions the Dolphins have made in the last decade.

Let's take a particular look at Randy Meuller's one year in charge of personnel. IIRC his 4 biggest moves were:

- Signing Joey Porter to a big contract
- Drafting Ted Ginn top-10 overall
- Drafting John Beck in the 2nd to make up for skipping QB in the 1st
- Trading away Wes Welker

Nice year!
