Open letter to Red Sox management

As a life long Red Sox fan, I am begging, wishing, hoping, asking, pleading; PULL BUCKHOLTZ FROM THE ROTATION, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE.

He may turn it around next year, but for the love of Christ, how many more times are you going to trot this stiff out to the mound so he can get his azz handed to him, enough is friggin enough...............

And replace him with Charlie Zink? David Pauley? Masterson? None of the options to replace him would be an improvement. Zink and Pauley were worse in their starts in Boston this season, so their chance of success is on par with Buchholz'. Stretching out Masterson a month after he was transitioned into the bullpen would be a bad idea for a 23 year old arm.

Once Wakefield or Colon gets healthy then one of them will replace Buchholz. Wakefield threw 44 pitches in a bullpen session today and felt no problems with his shoulder, so hopefully he'll be back in the rotation in the very near future. Until then there is not a lot that can be done.

Zink has a 5.35ERA in his last 6 starts in AAA. If he has an ERA that high against minor leaguers, he's going to be bad against major leaguers.

You reach a point where you're damaging the kids development by letting him get manhandled at the pro level. He's young, and I think he has terrific stuff, but he should get sent down. Masterson isn't going into the rotation, and Wakefield should be back soon. I'd go with Pauley for a start or two. He can't be much worse.
