He was just released and looking for a team with a good chance to go to the SB. My logical side says he goes back to NO, but he might be a great alternative to the under performing CJ...Thoughts?

Much rather have CJ than Horn. Horn is over the hill, he has 6 TDs the last three years. CJ has more upside than a 36yo Joe Horn. And further he is cheaper.

**** Joe Horn. Has everyone forgotten what he said last season?

I’m not trying to downgrade Tom Brady, he’s a cool dude. Randy, cool brother, that’s my dog. Since they were caught cheating and everybody said that’s what they needed and the Super Bowl should have been taken back because it was tainted, and they were found cheating, and their coach should have gotten suspended, like everyone else gets suspended, but he wasn’t, they’re pissed off.

They’re upset and they’re saying, hey, we didn’t need the videotapes to kick ya'll's butt, to kick everybody’s butt and blow them out. And we’re going to show you that now. We’re going to kill teams and, we’re going to beat them by 50 or 60 points just to show you that we could have did that regardless whether we got caught cheating or not. It’s not Randy’s fault. It's not Tom Brady’s fault…I’m not blaming none of the players. You were caught cheating, so that’s what you’re going to retire with. That’s what you’re going to be known for in the Super Bowls that you won. Regardless, you were cheating, and you won those Super Bowls.

Don’t get mad now and try to score 70 or 80 points on teams when you could have did it when you weren’t cheating. So, I’m not trying to dog anybody but, it is what it is. They’ve got a great football team and I think personally they could go 19-0. But the fact is, at the end of the day, when you hang your retirement up, all you’re going to be left with, besides your name, yeah, those three Super Bowls were great, but you were kind of cheating in knowing what the defenses were calling over there. They’re a little upset right now so it’s a way of them feeling better about themselves showing people they don’t have to cheat and they still can beat people by 70 now.

I forgot. Something anti-Pats, most likely? So what. Marcus Pollard talked sh!t about us and we gave him a shot.

But no, Joe Horn is an old man who thinks he is better than he is. I'd rather give Chad Jackson a full year to see what he is.

Screw Joe Horn then if that is what he said.

A couple of things:

1.) Horn will not go back to New Orleans. Sean Payton is no fan of Horn and will not want him back under any circumstance.

2.) Horn wants to have a shot at legitimate starting playing time. He isn't going to get it here. He isn't going to be happy being the Pats' 4th WR. He will settle to supplant Welker as the #2 WR. I don't think Belichick would accomodate though.

3.) I see him going to the Cowboys. It is his first choice. He can immediately win the #2 WR spot. They have a legitimate chance of going to the Super Bowl.

4.) If Dimitroff doesn't want him in Atlanta, it doesn't give him a lot of hope of coming to the Patriots. Pioli and Belichick hold Dimitroff's opinion in very high regard. If he isn't good enough for the Falcons, he isn't good enough for the Pats.

5.) I don't want him. This is the second team in two years that he has tried to shoot his way out of town. He might have been a great human being for all he did for New Orleans during the Katrina crisis, but he is whiney, selfish when it comes to football. I'd pass.

I heard Brady on WEEI about three seasons ago, saying that Joe Horn was doing a lot of trash talking during a pre-season game aginst the Patriots. He was glad Joe Horn is not playing for the Patriots.

I guess based on Brady's comment, it is very un-likely that Joe Horn be a Patriots.

Seriously? Are the old defense comments enough, now you want old offense comments too?

why don't they just go after Jimmy Smith and Tim Brown while they are at it.

Let's get David boston.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Jets picked up Horn.

Indeed. Pass on Horn. The big mouth can go toot his horn in Dallas for all I care.

I'm pretty sure Andre Rison and Carl Pickens are still available

How about CJ and a #2 for Boldin? Feasible? CJ gets a new start and Boldin is the longer term answer to Moss' age. I think the Cards give CJ a shot because he is on the cheap and Fitzgerald has a whopper contract. That would still leave Gaffney as a 40 catch #4 WR I believe.
People giggled when I said go for Shockey for a #two (which we have two) and a #six. A healthy Shockey is better than what we have.

SureHorn would fit, he would have looked great on the '92 team.
