In a shocking turn of of events a significant number of Patriot fans learned just this week that Tom Brady is an above average QB.

Multiple posters on several Patriots message boards have just this week realized that Tom Brady is an above average QB. And not only that, but better than his back ups.

Posters have observed that "the offense does not play as well when Tom is not playing." Others have pointed out that they would not trust his back up the Patriots in a come from behind late 4th quarter victory.

These fans that are shocked that Bill Belichick does not have a second QB as a back up of equal or better caliber or of Tom Brady. Many noting that is unlikely that any back up quarterback on the roster would be capable of leading the team to the superbowl.

They are suddenly realizing what fans of many other teams have known for a long time, without Tom Brady the Patriots are not a playoff team.

This seems a bit odd as all last season the same message board were full of threads about Tom Brady is the greatest QB to have ever played the game.

One must wonder about the mental capacity of those who believes that Tom Brady is the greatest QB of all times, yet at the same time expects his back up QB to be his equal.

Now I know this whole post was meant to be extremely cynical, but I'm not inclined to believe this statement is true.

It would be extremely DIFFICULT for us to make the playoffs without TB, but come on. The Bears went to the Super Bowl with Rex Grossman. The Ravens WON the Super Bowl with Trent Dilfer.

I'm not saying our defense is automatically as good as either of those teams, but I think it's pretty damn good, and if one of these young QBs can just learn to play it safe, we could be a wild card team with the rest of the supporting cast. Win the Super Bowl? No. Playoffs? I don't see why not.

Brady's a system QB. That's it.

Minds have been blown all across Patsfans. GGH, I have to say that I've really been enjoying your posts lately. Keep up the good work. :eat3:

I didn't know the that the backups were not as good/ if not better than the starter.

That's for the tip.

Of course, anybody that watches ESPN knows that. You can just put anyone back there with an arm and you'd get the same result. This isn't news really... In fact, Tom Brady is probably a back-up QB on any other team
