i just watched the play again to see where Meriweather got hurt. It was the play before he was limping and took himself out the game. The play was a run to Dunn up the middle and Meriweather came up and put a nice smack on him, during the end of the tackle Seymour was on Meriweathers back and kinda landed on him.

It looked like his knees were fine, they werent hit blindsided from the side or anything, they were pretty much straight and he landed after the tackle on them fine. It looks like he twisted his right ankle at the begining of the tackle, it was hard to see but that was why he was limping on his right foot the next play, then he took himself out.

I think he has a right ankle sprain, i dont think its very serious.

We all hope you are right. Sometimes the silliest looking plays end up being major injuries (see Tank who walked off) but if it looks non major the odds favor it being so.

Not sure I want any starters playing the next two games. None. (I'm only kind of kidding).

yea sometimes even a small twist or pull and tear a ligament. I do know that its -not- his knees, or ACL, its his right ankle. Hopefully its just a sprain and no ligament damage in his ankle. I think if it was really bad he would have stayed on the ground, but he was up and took himself out the next play, i think he twisted his ankle slightly.

Thanks for the report Dr. Briz

Now if you can help me with my upper back and neck stiffness.....

Technically a sprain is ligament damage in that the ligaments get over stretched but I get what you were saying - no tear...

You never know with the ankles. I fractures my ankle once and I thought I just rolled it over and I was trying to walk it off. I got a good 100 yards before I started to think this might be more than just rolling an ankle.

Not saying Meriweather's is worse but walking on a fracture is a lot easier until the swelling starts.

Funny enough this fracture I speak of occurred at old foxboro stadium like 10+ years ago. It was one of the first years of the Patriot Experience thing. There was a stupid moonwalk (those things that fillup with air) that was just a big pyramid that you ran over the top and you slid down the other side. Well somehow I caught my ankle on the way down and rolled it over. I walked back to the car and than took my shoe off and knew I was in trouble. I tried to hop to a medical tent to see if they had an ace bandage and maybe some cruches so I could go into the game. Before I could make it security spotted us and asked if we needed help and by this time it was clear I did. They called an ambulance and I was taken off. The kicker to the story my father just tapped the back of the ambulance like you see in movies and waived as I left and then he went into the game.

Did you explain how he was so concerned that he made sure your mother was there to greet the ambulance when it arrived at hospital and then carried on, with a very heavy heart, toughing it out taking your brothers to the game?
