"We got a lot of [expletive] work to do," said linebacker Mike Vrabel.

"You can put that in the Globe and print it."

Great quote from Vrabel, real season starts in September.

He didn't seem overly concerned about it on the sidelines last night. I'm not either.

And NFL Network already running a report about "WHAT'S WRONG WITH THE PATS". Pretty simple, idiot. It's the preseason. If Tom Brady was on the field for two series last night and that still happened, I would be worried. People are just chomping at the bit for our downfall.

Champing at the bit. Common mistake, but I like to point it out, so more people get it right in the future.

In England maybe, but it has evolved a bit over the years in the US. I think both are acceptable to be honest.

Although "champ" was orginally the right one.....Both are acceptable:

Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary now includes both expressions without qualification.

: "chomp" is a dialect variation of "champ", which means to chew vigorously or nervously, to grind the teeth, "champing at the bit" describes the behavior of a horse, anxious to get going. If you have ever ridden horseback you know what that looks like. (The bit, of course is the metal rod in the horse's mouth attached to the reins, with which one controls the animal.

Another in the long, distinguished line of words becoming accepted due to years of people getting it wrong. Yay.

Thank god he didn't say the Herald.
