NFL Top 10 fan bases

We're not even in the top 10???? After all the camera-crap the media has overemphasized? I pull the bull-crap card.

We're not even the most popular team in Massachusetts.

I have a hat, a banner and switched my satellite provider for Boston feeds. And I live right between the Lions and the Bills in Ontario. I say this is bogus. Are the Pats really that unpopular outside of New England?

We are a bunch of bandwagon fans, don't you know?

Hey I don't give a **** about the list but all I can say is that I'm proud not to be an Eagles fan. From what I hear a lot of their fans are ass holes.

The writer admitted to being an Eagle fan when commenting on the Raiders, and then ranked the Eagles first. Sure sounds like an unquestionable scientific survey to me!

Yep, I think that's exactly it... the Patriots were forth string in the area when I started following them. If they had better support through the years, they probably would still be named the Boston Patriots.

Our fan base sucks. Any fan base that cheers the scoreboard of a Red Sox game more than the plays going on right in front of them to the point that players on the field even mention it after the game...well that fanbase sucks.

Gillette stadium is like a morgue. I'm sure this argument will never end but there's no doubt in my mind it's not the same as 2003/2004.

It was worse then. That's when that Red Sox cheer happened. I think it's improved a bit since then.

Is Roger going to stand for this? Not one NY team?

I lived in Philly from 1962 - 1987 and I don't remember anybody really caring about the Iggles other than a small group of die-hard fans. Watching Invincible the other night reminder me how bad they really were (Mike Boryla at QB, ugh). I went to Vet Stadium for a few games and it was like a scene out of the Superdome after Katrina. I put that out of my memory after I moved to Boston until I was flying to Disney with my wife and son and we had a layover in Philly.

We sat next to a family of around 10 and every single one of them were wearing Eagle jerseys. They all had tattoos except for the baby in a carriage (could not really tell for sure). The male head of the clan had a McNabb jersey, was missing most of hs teeth and was already hammered at 2:00 in the afternoon. Reminder me of being back in that toilet of a stadium except nobody was puking next to me.

Not true! The baseball team rules Boston, but the Patriots are the regional favorite.

The Pats' popularity since 1993 has been steadily increasing. EVERY game since 1994 has sold out.

the pats blow the red sox in ratings every year , but the media and the whiny sox fans can only comeback with there are fewer games, you can always turn that around and say can you imagine the excitement and fevor if the pats played 162 games a year, football is the #1 sport in the country and here

There is no way Eagle fans are the best football fans in America. However, they win the prize for "American sports fan base most resembling European Soccer hooligans", an award they would probably accept with pride.

Sales of Patriot Jerseys have been in the top 5 for years now. Follow the money and not the BS talk about a baseball town, maybe Boston is, but New England & the rest of the country has a huge Patriot legion that rivals any in all of the NFL.

Not going to lose any sleeper over not making the Top 10 list of some Eagles homer.

Even though you are beging sarcastic, I find this to be absolutely true. Anyone who was REALLY around in the early 90's would agree with me, im sure.

I have no problem with the Patriots not being in the top 10. The tradition isn't there with the fanbase and the Patriots couldn't give away tickets 20 years ago.

I do have problems with teams on the list. The Raiders may have a small group of rabid fanatics.... or lunatics, but they never sell out games. Same with Buffalo eventhough their average ticket price is almost half of what we pay to go to Gillette.

It doesn't matter if the perceived notion of the Pats being second to the Sox is true or not. All the future generations will be Pats # 1. Ask the kids who they like better. Most kids have never seen beyond the second inning of a World series game because of the start time. MLB is killing off its future fans for television dollars now. My kids have little interest in Fenway but they climb over each other to see who gets to go with dad to the Pats. The memories of WATCHING these teams will make the future all Pats versus the memory of finding out if the Red Sox won or not when they wake up the next day.
