Tom said you were ahead of last year going into the point at last year. He said from Day One you've been ahead because you have a year in the system. Did you feel that comfort level coming into Day One?

"The good thing that I can really say about our offense, and I'm speaking for myself, is that you had guys that came in late, [Jabar] Gaffney, myself, Chad Jackson was hurt last year, and Welker coming in last year, so for us to have a whole off-season, a training camp to really understand the offense and the concept is really scary. That's why I say I'm nervous man because there is really no telling what we're going to do. So, like I said, the bar is set high and we'll see what happens."

Hell yeah baby. Randy may not have 23 TDs again but we're still going to have an amazing offense.

My pants just got smaller.

I predict the offense will be better, but the stats will go down.

Why???

The team will focus more on the run this year. That in turn will make the offense more balanced and allow the D to rest by being off the field. The offense will have its strength in the pass, but it needs to be more run balanced. Plus, with this line and our talent @ RB, the run game could be nearly as special.

I think you'll see the biggest improvement againt sophisticated defenses. The Patriots last year, as has been mentioned by TB, mostly just "tried to get in the right formation". Now, the formation is more natural, and they can go out there and communicate with a gesture or glance to change the play at the line of scrimmage.

If Randy Moss and Tom Brady being able to say "Hm... looks like the coverage is cover two and the safety is giving me too big of a cusion. Randy, change that fly to a skinny post and see if we can take this one to the house." with a wink is kind of awsome.

I read Randy's words and, well, a shiver went up my leg.

He may have more.

This could be a really awesome offense again. Especially since everyone knows the system now...

Problems is not only is everyone on the Pats offense familiar with the Pats offense so is every teams defense.

If it really is a case of improving with experience, then our offense should have been better in the second half of the season than the first half. It wasn't. In fact during the course of the season the Patriots went from blowing out great teams (chargers, cowboys) to having close games with medicore teams (ravens, eagles) to losing to a wild card team.

Patriots should have a very solid offense once again, but I expect that defenses will be better prepared to attack it.

That is perhaps the key to the season (providing we don't have major injuries/suspensions/hold-outs).

Can the Pats adjust in game when their plan isn't working ? They used to be able to do it better than anyone, yet towards the end of the season and during the SB they stopped. Why ?

Is there a lack of imagination, of will, did they not have the right or healthy talent, or are they simply sticking to their guns, no matter what ?

I hope they can get back on track with out-thinking and out-planning as well as out-playing the other teams. Heaven knows the others aren't just going to lie down and wait to be walked on.

Although I agree that an additional year w/ the added healthy running backs in the stable look real promising, it will come down to the OLine. If Light is not healthy along w/ a less then healthy Neal, I am apprehensive. You don't have to look any further then the SB to see what a decent DLine can do to a less then healthy Oline (even w/ great weapons). Disrupts the entire offensive flow. :(

Did I miss something? Why was he not speaking to the media until now? Why only 3 questions? Just curious if something pissed him off because I saw that he did something for E:60.

Moss hates the media. He has never like them, but he is particularly dislikeful of them since they branded him someone who beats up women last year.

I agree, Play action pass and Brady's ability to sell it will be the key to this offense. The OL won't be as good this year.

Which translates to them still being one of the better O-lines in the league. Though I don't think they'll be the brick wall they were through most of last season. Only time will tell.

As for Moss' comments, I'm seriously getting more and more pumped for the regular season to begin with each day. A year under this offenses belt will do their coordination good, and considering how in-sync they were last year, Moss is right, scary. Also Belichick and the coaches have had a whole offseason to watch film and better prepare these guy's for the defenses they just KNOW they're gonna face. Combine that with the improved D and yeah, I'm feeling good about the 08 Pats right now.

My pants just got smaller.

That's funny as hell! I'm going to use that when when the opportunity presents itself (although I'll probably use it when referring to the opposite sex though :). I'll be sure to give you credit.

IMO our offense will be great! That said, I don't think we'll get anywhere near last years stats based on two things: more running & possible holes along the offensive line.

The only stat I'm interested in is a 1-0 record in the Super Bowl.

Thanks again for the laugh.

That was a GREAT D line that did that + somehow our O line played awful = you know what happened. I wouldn't worry about that happening too often.
