Charles Haley. I'm just talking about his appearance. Obviously Crable isn't a HOF caliber player. He has that size, length, skinny strength and coordination. Hopefully he works as hard as Pierre has worked. Anyone else see the physical resemblance?

I like the Willie Mcginist comparisons myself.

I thought Haley was a bit bigger frame-wise

Hopefully the comparisons only carry over on the field....

Jeff Pearlman has a new book coming out in September called Boys Will Be Boys, which chronicles the Cowboys during the Aikman-Smith-Irvin glory years. Tucked inside the book is a chapter called “The Last Naked Warrior,” which is a nickname defensive end Charles Haley used for himself. Haley, if you recall, was a goddamn beast of a pass rusher, and also a legendary *******. But what you may not know about Haley is that he was:

A) Legitimately insane
B) Hung like Milton Berle
C) Liked jacking off in front of teammates and coaches

And not playful jerking off. We’re talking the real, hardcore, I’m-home-and-my-wife-is-at-the-movies jerking off. I’ll let Pearlman fill you in:

Haley would stroll up to an unsuspecting (49er) teammate, whip out his phallus, and repeatedly stroke it in his face. Players initially laughed it off…

He was definately thicker but Willie was more rangy. I don't expect him to accomplish as much as either of those 2. Maybe more along the lines of Chris Slade-type production.

Wasn't Chris Singleton known for that type of physique with small legs but a powerful upper body?

He reminds me of a LB out of Ackron same size 6'5 around 243 lbs.........Jason Taylor. I hope he plays like Taylor, who I think was a third rnd pick also.

Hah, I was going to say the same thing. I don't care if Crable develops into a 15 sack/year guy, if he starts jerking off in team meetings (or in this case, meatings), cut him please.
I think if he starts spanking his monkey in meetings, his monkey is going to get cut.

If I were Belichick I would make sure that during practice they don't play 'Stroke Me by Billy Squier' on the loudspeaker

There is nothing obvious about that at all.

The guy hasn't played one game yet.

I'm assuming he means that Crable hasn't proven himself HOF-caliber just yet. [Of course, in the perfect Homerville world, the Patriots just drafted/signed as UDFAs five future HOFers. :) ]

Why didn't you just say that in your thread headline? Were you afraid no one would read it otherwise?

FYI: if you roll over a thread you can check its contents without clicking.

so if it son't obvious wouldn't that make it secretive or a mystery?

Crable reminds me of Vernon Crawford (with talent).

I love the Willie comparisons Willie was the man. I loved the attitude too. If Crable ends up anything close to Willie, i'll be happy.

His pick in that preseason game was pretty sweet too, i'm going to need to watch the whole thing over again and just look for Crable and Mayo.

"Tucked inside the book is a chapter called “The Last Naked Warrior,” which is a nickname defensive end Charles Haley used for himself."

That was his nickname for himself? Classic!

For obvious reasons, that line got burried by the stories of his lockerroom antics, but deserved some love nonetheless.

Regards,
Chris
