Pennington to Miami

I think this makes it pretty clear that the Dolphins don't think Beck's the answer and don't think Henne's ready.

As for what the hell Pennington is thinking, I'll leave that for the psychiatrists to figure out.

How funny would it be if he beats the jets week 1 lol

:woohoo:

Noodle arm to the doophins. Should we be scared?

This is pretty funny when you think of all the Dolphin fans that must've trashed CP every chance they got.

That would be too funny for words. First, Lord Favre gets his butt handed to him by Pennington, then the Jests lose again to the Pats at home week 2.

Man, it just couldn't get any better than that!

How much tougher is this division now with Favre in NY and Pennington in Miami? Is anybody worried? Just kidding...:singing:

I have to agree that playing for the worst team in football does not seem to make sense. He signed so quickly that its hard to tell if he had any other offers. The Vikes and the Bears need quarterback upgrades and are contenders. Maybe, after all the time spent in cold NY, he wants to bask in the sun.

Parcells drafted Pennington, if I'm not mistaken. Look at how many players (and coaches) have followed him from city to city throughout his career.

Penny in Chicago? hahah that would be a site to see.

So who has the best QB now, the Dolphins or Jets?

Pennington may have gone to Miami because it's the most likely place to start (the Vikings and Bears reportedly didn't have interest). How many other "contenders" are looking for a starting quarterback of Pennington's calibre?

Parcells and playing against the Jets first week of the season probably have a lot to do with signing with the Dolphins.

Despite the foul feeling I get whenever I do this, I'll be rooting heavily for Pennington and the Dolphins week one. If Miami beats New York, Favre and the Jets are more likely than not to start the season 0-3 (Chargers in week three). That would be beautiful.

He was one of the worst starters in the NFL. Where else could he sign and expect to have a reasonable chance of starting?

Chicago? No way. If he was going against the wind, he might become the first QB to catch his own pass without it being tipped.

Atlanta? Possible but that situation is the same as the Fins...without the beach.

I guess he would rather be a starter in a familiar setting (Parcells, AFC East) than a backup on a contender.

For the 2008 season I believe its the Dolphins.

Penny is pissed. Farve is in over his head.

Well, I wanted him & we didn't get him, so let me be the first homer to say, "Woo hoo! He stinks! There's two Ws for us!" ;)

This has a lot to do with the Jets than us or the fish.. He wants to prove to mangenius he is bettter than favra... Still think we need a back up QB.. But there is none out there.

Tuna loves his veteran QB's and he hates starting youngsters because they just don't know the drill. Chad wants a shot to work for someone who believes in him. Tuna drafted him. Tuna was on the phone before the JETS cut him. Tuna spent the last couple of seasons as a HC coaching a defense that gave Favre fits. Miami plays the JETS twice. Tuna was on the horn with Quincy Carter last week so there is no question he was not enamored of starting Beck or Henne. He knows Chad is a team player who will stay on script effectively helping to mentor Henne in exchange for a shot at starting for a solid year or two and say wonderful things about coach on and off the field.

This was a no brainer for a team that just really needs to win more than 1 game to improve dramatically as they rebuild.

2 years $11.5M to babysit a rebuild and always hope you caught lightening in a bottle. I can see why Chad did it. He likely knows there is little loyalty or security in this league and he went to the one guy who can probably offer him the most of both at least for this season and next. He's not screwing anyone out of a starting job and he's not going to be burdened with unrealistic expectations from his GM, HC, teamates or fanbase.

I wish him luck except for against us. He makes Miami alot better. Which is pretty easy.

Alas poor Chadness.. we hardly knew yee....
