Can you imagine when he starts throwing those killer INTs around Giants Stadium? Cripes, the Jets fans cheered when Pennington went down with an injury. Maybe this is why Goodell put in that fan conduct policy - so Lord Favre won't get murdered when he goes to NY!
Sounds like he's more likely headed to TB. On the plus side, I'm sure Pennington and Clemens are thrilled with the vote of confidence in them regarding the Jets' interest in Favre.
FWIW, according to Jay Glazer, the JEST are offering significantly more to the Packers for Lord Favre than the Bucs--and given that the JEST don't play Green Bay at home until 2014, I can't see why the Packers would prefer that he end up in TB.

Nah. Johnny Unitas, Joe Namath, Joe Montana and Warren Moon played for bad Charger, Rams, Chiefs, and Seahawk teams after being associated with one team. Not only don't people hold it against their legacy, most people don't even remember. Does anyone remember a fifth great QB to play for a bad team after a great career with one team that almost no one remembers? There are actually several. That's a bad idea for Brett and his "legacy"
Ditto to both thoughts. So he went from saying he didn't want to play for the Jets to all of the sudden saying he will? Sounds like he wants to play in Tampa and is just trying to help the Packers get more out of the Bucs. That being said I hope to hell the lands in NY.
There seem to be an awful lot of people who don't seem to grasp the Favre > Pennington aspect of this possibility. Even if you buy into that 'gunslinger' argument, Favre will still be going to a team with a disciplined offense, and will play mostly within that structure. While I don't think Favre makes the Jets the team to beat in the East or anything like that, he makes them far more likely to get into the playoffs and far more likely to beat the Patriots in any one game scenario than Pennington does.

OTOH, someone was making the argument this morning that one of the reasons Favre did so well last year was that the Packers shelled out $50K to have a personal trainer spend eight weeks with Favre getting him ready. That certainly didn't happen this year.
Yeah, I'm a little concerned about the possibility of Favre > Pennington, but, as a rule, Pennington doesn't throw as many games away, either.
I have to jump in here.
Yes, he is a better QB than Pennington but the Jets have alot of holes and while I think that they are better than last years record, Farve will not get them to the playoffs this year.
I don't know what the Packers want but I hope its alot and the Jets do it. They won't give up a first but maybe a 2nd and a 4th in next years draft. This I want to see.
Farve to the Jets will set this franchise back in the long term. I genuinely believe that!
Last year to me was an abberation for Farve. I think that if you look back another 2-3 years you'll see the real picture. And ask your self this, "Which is more likley to happen: Farve of 2007 or Farve of 2005-06"?
If it happens its a great move for the Pats.
