ESPN Socks it to boston

Not sure what I think about that. How does that "guerilla marketing campaign" help ESPN?

I honestly can't believe a "news" network (I know, I know but for the sake of argument) would even engage in (let alone start) this kind of guerrilla campaign...it's baffling, and I can't for the life of me think of anything comparable.

I just don't understand why they would do it? The only thing I can think of is that ratings are down in the LA area or something:confused:

I hate ESPN as much as the next guy, but they are in it for controversy and rating. I think spygate was a mix of that and the fact that BB doesn't give reporters the drama they want so they hated him. I honestly don't think ESPN has it in for Boston or the Red Sox though. Let's face it, the HOF player going to another team 2/3 of the way through the season is a bigger story than Jason Bay, so I can't really fault the coverage. I just think this is a bizarre thing to do.

I can't stand the opinions of pretty much all the idiots on that channel. But the only person that physically hurts my ears and instantly gives me a headache is Skip Bayless. Not only are his opinions this contrived, extreme contrarion rant, but both his voice and delivery are unbearable.

Hes terrible. The only guy that physically makes my ears hurt is the guy who says 'whoop' in a high shreaking voice when someone gets juked. That guy is the bane of my television existence.

LOL, I actually like Chris Berman. He's actually one of the more bearable people on that god foresaken channel. My dad hates him though. Calls him "Chris Vermin".

I'm not yet 30, and I'm already tired of it. "HE.... COULD...... GO....... ALL........" We know stupid, allll the way. I'm so sick of announcers making the actual news and announcing secondary to their own cornballish, hacky routines. See Sterling, John, of the New York Yankees. "nnnnIT IS HIGH....nnnnIT IIIIS FAR....." Gone, yes, we know. His home run calls make want to murder. I loathe those awful gimmicks everyone feels they have to develop. There's a difference between character and gimmicks.

"The GIAMBINO!!!" "A BACK TO BACK AND A BELLY TO BELLY!!" What the hell does that even mean?

Hhahaha exactly. "BERNIE GOES BOOM!" "ROBBIE GETS RIBBI!" Ridiculous. We're lucky, because Castiglione and (usually) Rish don't interject such crappy over-dramatic bunk over legitimate baseball calls.

He is an idiot isn't he? I used to love the Sports Reporters show with **** Schappe, and like PTI now, but most of those shows blow. I can't stand Stuart Scott, Chris Berman, Jime Rome, Bayless...

Yeah I can't stand any of them. Wilbon and Kornheiser don't bother me at all, along with JA Adande and a few others. But the ones that are the worst are the ones you mentioned that try to mix their obnoxious opinions with somekind of signature (earsplitting) delivery or catchphrase. And Trey Wingo and Mark Schlereth never bothered me before this year but now I just cannot stand them. They come off very self-righteous and arrogant. John Clayton too, though that has more to do with spygate I guess.
