Nomar: "Truth to what Manny said"

Yep. I remember when they insulted him with a 4-year, $60 million offer.

Since leaving the Sox, what has Nomar done to make Sox fans regret trading him?

regret is the wrong word I think you mean Ecstatic

60 million insults I guess. To think that he turned that down. How'd that work out for ya No-arm?

Two words for that pantywaste and they ain't "Merry Xmas"! :D

Has Nomar even made a tenth of that contract since he was traded?

I really don't care about Normar or Manny anymore, at all.

I'd rather read another Brett Favre story than a post-trade Manny article.

Why do some of you sheep hate Nomar so much, other than the fact that you're easily media brainwashed?

I don't hate him. Certainly don't miss him though. Do you disagree with that trade?

EDIT - Give me pre-injured wrist/steroids era Nomar though. I do miss that guy.

.

No, it was the right move, just as trading Manny was the right move.

What pisses me off though, is all the demonizing by fans and media afterwards. There's no need for that crap, just move on. Some need to stop embarrassing the entire fanbase by trashing players when they leave.

That's very true ... but Manny does deserve criticism for quitting on the team in recent weeks. A professional owes it to the fans to perform at their highest level at all times and Manny crossed the line by letting his fans and teamates down in recent weeks.

No more proof of this is needed than to watch him beating out an infield hit for a single in his first game with the Dodgers.

Agreed. You won't ever hear me trashing Nomar. I loved the guy, and wish him only the best. Same with Pedro for the most part too, though I do think his ego got in the way at times.

I've always been an ardent defender of Manny too, but the negatives about him are real, and in the past month he's really pissed me off. I'm pretty good about discerning between propaganda and real information, and the stuff being said about Manny right now is at least 80% true.

Got no problem with Nomar. Glad the got rid of him when they did though.

as for Manny. Manny shot his way out of town, which I have little respect for. Grateful for some of the good things he did here, but he HAD TO GO at this point. Plus, I think it was smart to dump a very over-valued Manny (distraction and all), for a very under-valued Bay. It was a descent move by the front office.

Bay will do well here I think.

I never criticised Nomar ... even though he was quite sh!tty at times because it was well known theat he was a west coast guy. Especially after he married Mia Hamm who liked the west coast also. Players have a right to play where they wish ... it just hurts sometimes.

And this is exactly what people need to realize. If Manny played the season without making a circus out of himself, left at the end of the season to play elsewhere, then any criticism of Manny would be few and far between.

But he killed any chance for a happy ending when he decided to give daily updates to ESPN about how terrible the Red Sox are, and to then become a distraction to his teammates.
