I'm a little suprised you have Aiken and Slater ahead of Jackson but otherwise, good prediction.

That's only 52 players. Perhaps another TE?

God damn it! I am an idiot, I must have counted that 10 times and still got it wrong. I will update, I am leaning towards Santonio Thomas, I like having 7 DL especially against some of the running games we will be facing.

That is my "shocker", I will update each week. Last year I was certain that Gemara Williams was going to make the team but I did give Reche Caldwell the boot, so some workout and some don't.

Can you indicate your anticipated gameday active 45? I know that may change, but assume perfect health and suiting up for week 1 vs KC.

Indeed. Some DO workout and some don't.

I agree for the most part. In some cases I just don't know - like I think at QB one of the Matts will stay and one will go, but I don't know which.

At LB I think Guyton could earn a spot at the expense of Alexander. I'm also wondering if Hobson will make it.

I agree with Kontra that Jackson will make the team, but not at the expense of Aiken or Slater who are both key for ST.

This pretty much sums up my thought process. The first 48 are pretty easy, and then it gets damn hard.

And whoever gets cut won't be on the street long as they are certain to be picked up by Clev, NYJ

...and that's why I'm glad Belichick and Co. are making the decisions.

Better have a Dave-Thomas-to-PUP scenario in there...

...just a gut feeling.

how about this...I predict the Pats will cut Tom Brady before they cut a 24yr old 2nd rd draft choice, who is still on his rookie contract.

What?......they cut Brady?

.....O the humanity

You forgot Chad Jackson. Also, no way we start the season with only 2 TE's on the roster. NO WAY!

Chad Jackson makes it for 7 nominal WRs (3 ST)

Lewis Sanders has done nothing; opening to some one else.

Guyton beats out Alexander.

Santonio to PS, along with Gutierez.

Pollard to Shadow roster, along with Seau and Testaverde and Izzo, and Ross. BB learned his lesson with Justin Rodgers and whatizname the oldtimer...

The humanity indeed, I will try to respond to as many questions as possible.

Jackson - So much potential but where is his roster spot? I don't think he will beat out Gaffney for the number 3 and Washington, Aiken and Slater are more productive in special teams. I hope the kid can show something because he has an obvious role as a deep threat but I just don't think it is in the cards.

PUP - I have worked so far under the assumption that everyone is healthy, Neal and Vrabel among others are starting to concern me.

Gameday 45 - something like this

Offense
QB - 2 Tom Brady, Cassel
RB - 4 Faulk, Maroney, Morris
FB - 1 Evans
C - 1 Koppen
G - 3 Neal, Hochstein, Mankins
OT - 3 Light, Kaczur, O'Callaghan
WR - 6 Moss, Welker, Washington, Gaffney, Aiken, Slater

There is about a 3% chance Jackson gets cut. I think they keep Aiken, Slater & Jackson, with Jackson really being the only real WR and the other two kept for STs.

End of the road for Alexander & Spann.

Gameday 45 - something like this

If I count correctly, that is 47. And I can't believe Jordan will make the roster if he doesn't have a regular role in the gameday active 45.

I'm not trying to bust on you. This is not an easy activity.

Please no more math... the ideal 45 only is relevant for the first game, after that injuries are a factor as is the game plan. Our 45 game day roster is going to look good, not a lot of surprises. The final 8 include backup lineman, a QB and the final 4-5 special teams spots. Tough job ahead for the bubble boys.

Hey Pats fans, how the hell are ya?

How goes TC? How are the rooks and 2nd year men looking?

How are Mayo and Crable? How about Meriweather? What of my boy O'Connell?

Is Seau retiring?
