Are Jordan's comments on Pats indicative of most players?

Now, that's better. Really, there's no organization that's run worse than the Raiders. Jordan's world could only improve in that regard.
You have to win a big one before you get to run with the big guys...you're not there yet.

Thanks for clarifying the "rules" Jackson. The ends dont necessarily justify the means....and vice versa. There are organizations that are well run, but dont have championships. Just as there are organizations that have championships and are run like crap. The discussion was about teams/organizations, not victories. The "big guys".......classic.

Not. Actually I thought about putting the Colts and Fins on the list but didn't b/c there's a slight possibility that a player might misguidedly say such a thing owing to 1 SB win, ancient history, or some such thing.

Think about it "I'm honored to be wearing the blue and gold" Nah.
I'm sure LDT's going to have a wonderful year and especially another fine game against NE. LOL

Actually, Im pretty sure it's been said a few times by players joining the Chargers. You're right, there's no other team in the world like the NE Patriots. The Colts you say? Yeah, that's a real scrap heap of an organization. What are you basing your opinion on? I'm starting to think you missed the point of the thread.

Not what?? The Raiders are a well run organization?

What's really stood out to me reading Lamon Jordan's comments about joining the Pats is how he repeatedly states how it is a privilege to put on the Patriots uniform and that it means something, etc. The comments are overall extremely reverent and not something you hear often.

This is from his recent Q&A, but I know he also make similar comments upon signing.

The comments are even more interesting when juxtaposed with last year's Spygate episode, when lots of people were questioning whether one of the lingering effects would be other players' perceptions of the Patriots and if it would possibly damage them in player acquisition.

So do you think that Jordan's comments are indicative of what other players around the league still think of the Patriots?

You make an excellent point bonneau! I wasn't even thinking of the players feelings regarding spygate...I enjoyed reading your post.

Sorry for.....missing the point of the thread. I do tend to lose objectivity when when it comes to certain running back. I see another gutsy performance by him on the horizon.

That makes two of us.

This guy seems like a decent Chargers fan; please stop reverse-trolling him.

I'd like to think that Jordan's feelings are indicative of many in the league. But coming out of the Raiders organization, I think Jordan would be honored and priviledged to wear a McDonald's uniform.

Hahaha, pretty much how I saw it too. Well stated.

Since the Patriots are an organization that has championships, am I to assume that they are one of those you think are "run like crap"? And, by the way, you revealed a whole lot about your real feelings with the "ends don't necessarily justify the means" comment. Care to clarify that?

Charger Fan is woozy after all those SHOCKING beatdowns the Bolts have endured the past few seasons....somebody pat him on the head and take away the jumper cables attached to his n(o)ut-sack

i live not 5 minutes away from qualcomm stadium and from what i've seen, most charger fans prefer the jumper cables attached to their areola.

Who said that? And you just revealed your age by surmising I was talking about the Pats. Try not to be so defensive with such a general topic. Actually, I was talking about teams like the Raiders. They have championships too, but the team...from top to bottom, is a mess (putting it lightly). So because they've won SBs in the past, is that a team you'd want to play for right now? Of course not. And its not just because they suck, it's because it's a poorly operated business right now. This is that age old perspective that somehow a championship makes everything ok from now until the end of time. Oh yeah, and that it somehow entitles a player to "talk smack." Absurd. I never implied the Pats were such a team. And no, "the ends dont justify the means" comment was not a dig about Spygate, it was referring to what I just spelled out above.

I see it as the Patriots are sort of the really hot girlfriend of the NFL. As an outsider jealousy sort of seeps in and you begin to struggle to find flaws on her to help you cope that she's not yours. Sometimes legitimate, most times not...however should that girlfriend ever be available and you get to date her though flaws are nothing more then an afterthought. Lamont has upgraded and is now dating the hottest girl in the NFL.

You're thinking too deep, man.

With a name like "joker," one would think you'd be funny at least once in a while. Maybe you could tell me "all those" games that were beatdowns. Or how about shocking? Our playoff loss to the Pats last year?....hardly a beatdown or shocking. Now, what about the last NFL game of the 2007 season? Oh yes, now that one was pretty shocking. But you already knew that. ;)

Everybody knows that pats is a good team. The players want to join a winning organization.
