Gammons. continues to be the #1 shill for Red Sox management, a hard title to hold with all the area sycophants nipping at his heels. I guess his "hot stove cool music" annual love fests with Epstein don't prejudice his judgment, in his own mind. Any honest person would recuse himself from writing about this situation, but Gammons is the Peter King of the NFL. His integrity is "beyond question".
Flash: The only hall of fame caliber employee in the entire organization is Ramirez.
He has been instrumental in two titles, more important than the pencil pushers in the front office, no matter how they pat themselves on the back.
These front office frauds have started to believe all the fellating the Boston press has given them, and begun thinking they are the stars of the team.
Great players, with true talent, are like great artists in any profession. They don't cow tow to middle men bean counters like the men who inhabit the Red Sox front office.
The smear job they have done in recent weeks on the best Red Sox position player since Ted Williams is disgusting. They have released through their press minions, the following to the fans:
-Manny is a racist
-Manny is a coward who ducks pitchers
-Manny is greedy
-Manny cares nothing about his teammates
-Manny fakes injuries
-Manny is a liar
I have never seen this kind of vitriol directed at a player who has committed no crime and is #6 in the AL in OPS, and the lead figure during a decade of unprecedented franchise success.
This is an example of bean counters and middle men overreaching, trying to steal the credit for the franchise's success from an actual talent.
The willingness of the press and many fans to swallow this propaganda is laughable, and demonstrates the misplaced power the Red Sox front office wields in NE.
