Practice observations: Kicking it old school
Posted by John Tomase at 12:31 pm

Patriots head coach Bill Belichick noted this morning that he has turned back the clock nearly a decade for this year’s training camp. The team has been in pads every day working on fundamentals in the hopes that once the season starts, the coaching staff can concentrate on game planning.

“We’re kind of going back to an older school way like we did in 2000 and 2001,” Belichick said. ” We’re spending a lot of time on fundamentals and individual technique, all of the things we can practice in pads, especially the running game, in the early part of camp. Then you hope you can carry it through the course of the season.”

Here are a few observations from the morning workout …

SITUATIONAL WORK: The Pats spent much of the morning focused on red zone, third down, two-minute, and short yardage packages. One standout during 7 on 7 drills was nose tackle Vince Wilfork, who seemed to shut down the middle by himself.

good stuff. Thanks.

Booooooooooo.

Tomase = FAIL

what is the over/under on how many miles a day this class act runs?

Just more second hand BS from fatboy. Does anybody really believe any player is talking to him. He might as well be pulling the stories from his backside or waiting for information from his undisclosed source LOL

The gutless blimp is hiding behind Karen's skirts and afraid to open the comments section in the Herald to his fans. I guess he found out its not so easy to face the public when the world knows you are an unethical liar.

Guys, just don't click the link if you don't like him. I personally like seeing separate perspectives in training camp. With so much going on, not even Reiss can see everything that goes on.

I have no problem with Karen Guregian's perspective for the Herald. For those that want lies about the Pats, I don't understand why the Herald doesn't hire Walsh and cut out the middle man.

There are a lot of camp reports now.

Blubberini can write for someone else as far as I'm concerned

Sorry Keegs, I have to ask for some clarification. Are you asking what the over/under is on the miles per day Tomase nets making "runs" to McDonalds or the over/under that he physically "runs" on a treadmill? This has a big impact on the answer to your question. Thanks in advance.

I agree. I've skimmed some of Tomase's TC stuff. Overall it seems fine. He's a pig and a low-life but all I care about is whats going on at camp. The more perspectives the better.

These posts are a perfect example of the childish overreach that gets in the way of many of us enjoying ANY notes we can get from T.C. I live in California, I would like to know even the slightest detail of what's going on.

YOU DON'T LIKE TOMASE. Roger that. Got it. Move on, please. I would like to read about the Patriots, who looks good, who's doing what, etc...

Bravo. Thank you. Guys around here are like a dog with a bone on this thing. You're like people who get mad about what's playing on the radio. DON'T TURN TO THAT STATION, then. Jesus.

I live in CA too and I don't want to read his sh!t. Like speculating that Moss' red hate meant "no contact". Total bozo is what he is.

Maybe you should ask him if he wants an assistant. You could help him break that "big story" right before the ultimate game.

But he's a proven liar. Why would I read his stuff when I have good reporters with sources on the team?

Tomase's fabrications should come with a warning label that the author is a proven liar. If Tomase grew a pair and did the honorable thing by leaving there wouldn't be this problem.
