OT: Boldin to Philly for Lito?

ESPN Radio reports rumors are starting to circulate that the Arizona Cardinals are considering a trade in which they would send disgruntled WR Anquan Boldin to the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for unhappy CB Lito Sheppard.

The amount of money the Cardinals will be paying Fitzgerald pretty much guarantees that they can't spend huge money on another receiver. Realistically speaking, Boldin's gone (He's made that pretty clear by ordering his agent not to negotiate with the team), so it's a matter of getting the best they can for him. I was reading that it would take Lito and 'more' to make the deal.

True. Just a matter of getting value for him. If it was straight up, the Cards would be getting robbed; but if it includes 'more' as you say, then it makes more sense for them.

I guess I just think back to the Pats getting a first for Branch and imagine that the Cards should get a heckuva a lot more for Boldin.

But I guess that has more to do with the Pats FO skills (and lack thereof in Seattle) than anything else ...

Don't you get it? All he did was make the probowl and pick off a bunch of passes, including 3 for TDs in the playoffs. Obviously he is a no talent hack, a product of BB's system. Personally, I don't find myself bitter, per se. Him leaving for more money is fine...hell, even Willie did it and everyone here loves him. I am just highly irritated that he let 19-0 bounce off of his hands.

And Boldin on Philly would, for me, make them the NFC East favorites.

Making interceptions by jumping routes with backup safety coverage was Samuel's trademark. He was not a shut down corner who could be matched up against the opponents best wr. Remember the CB who covered Buress was an injured Hobbs not Samuel. Bottom line is that he took the money and ran, now the Eagles will find out how good a one on one cornerback he is when they blitz on every down.

A freak injury just like David Givens. Ty Law got injured when he was a Pat. Willie had hammie injuries with the Pats and got injured with the Browns also.

I am a believer if the Pats had Branch against the Colts in the AFCCG they would have won.

FYI-Samuel would thrive in Tampa, Indy, and Chicago b/c they play the Cover 2 scheme.

Pt being that Samuel is just in the WRONG system in Philly. No-never thought he was a "system guy" or anything. Bottom line-you need the PROPER personnel to RUN your scheme effectively. Which is why teams like the Redskins underperform year in and your out-it's b/c these owners think playing fantasy football is the way to go.

During the summer of Deion's discontent, many thought we should keep him, even those who disagreed with his way of leaving.

What people said about Deion was AFTER the trade, AFTER he ended up with Seattle. People said, Ha ha, he didn't play very well, did he?" and some of us figure that maybe Brady had a lot to do with Deion's success. Branch has actually been a pretty good player in Seattle, emergin as Hassellbeck's safety valve. However-his big problem has been STAYING HEALTHY.

In the NFC Divisional Round game against the Packers, prior to the Hawks going up 14-0, he got hurt. Otherwise, it would have been a double-digit win by the Hawks b/c they were in high rhythm with their passing game at that point.

I think the jury is still out on Branch.

Personally I think people get joy out of seeing ex-pats fail and are quick to jump on any setback they encounter whether an injury or a blown assignment.

Not every Pats is criticized. I think people liked to see Joe Andruzzie get him money or even Tom Ashworth.
