Another well written report by SMY with the Projo... and a great theme for the season!

FOXBORO — In everything they do this season, members of the New England Patriots must remember one simple word:

Finish.

Finish a block. Finish video study. Finish practices. Finish plays. Finish games.

Just finish. See it through to the end with as much effort as you start it with.

The way the Patriots finished last season has provided the theme of this season, as the players have been reminded, and will continue to be reminded, of that one word at every turn.

Finish.

Nice article SMY!

Just wondering, where does the team stay while they are at camp?

I know it's a Hotel, but did not know which one.

Funny that the Cowboys are using the exact same mantra. I am pretty much expecting a Pats-Boys Super Bowl this year.

Yeah, same here. Of course the Cowpies have all the ingredients of either a superbowl run OR spontaneous combustion.

Actually you've made a common mistake. The mantra of the 2008 Cowboys is "Finnish" noting the inspiration that the team has found from Finnish Football player (you know the game as "soccer") Jussi Jääskeläinen

Jääskeläinen, as is commonly known, made his debut for Finland on March 25, 1998 against Malta. He was Finland's second choice behind Antti Niemi for years, but after Niemi retired from international football in 2005, Jääskeläinen finally became the Finnish number one.

His 300th appearance came against Liverpool on January 1, 2007.

On May 13, Jääskeläinen was named BWFC "Player Of The Year Award" and also "Players' Player Of The Year Award" after helping Bolton secure a UEFA Cup spot for only the second time in their history.

It's precisely that sort of heart and dedication that the Cowboys are attempting to channel this season.

I can understand your confusion though.

Obviously both you and richpats are unfamiliar with Jussi Jääskeläinen ;)

He of the unintended header fame.....similar in scope to a certain cowboy qb unable to handle a certain snap.

"In the 12th minute, however, Gerrard unleashed a shot that was passing a yard wide. Jaaskelainen, like Gary Sprake during Leeds' heyday, mixes brilliant saves with unforced errors. Instead of shepherding the ball out, he plunged to parry it, only for the swerving ball to miss his gloves and hit him on the ear before spinning back and rolling over the line. "Jussi made two fantastic saves after that, but he has held his hands up to the first one," Megson sighed, with no pun intended."

Shouldn't the mantra be:

"Don't #@%@&$ drop the game ending INT" ?

"and a great theme for the season!"

Wasn't that the theme last season? I thought last season was about not finishing the prior season's AFCCG.

Yeah it was, but more like "60 minutes" - the Pats played 1139 minutes last year :(
