I feel like I've learned so much and become so connected to this team from playing the NFL video games. Between that and NFL.com and of course this forum, I feel like I've learned so much (and realized how little I still know).

Anyone else feel like really digging into scripting plays in virtual reality has made them a better football/Pat's fan?

when i read this I thought you meant actually learning something from Madden himself LOL. I learned from Madden that you never go for the game winning field goal in the super bowl with 1 minute and no time outs left with a rookie QB.

Taught me how to carve a turkey - boom.

I learned that there is a B hole and an A hole. And sometimes the defense will go right up the A hole. I'm not making that up. I'm paraphrasing but, he said that on MNF.

Oh man. I can see him saying that on live TV....and of course not even realizing what he said.....

Haha I probably wouldn't have realized I said A-hole either.

See this is why I prefer to call them the A gaps and B gaps... unless of course the A Hole is different

LOL - ok, so no?

I always get a kick out if Madden.

"Usually the team with the least amount of mistakes on the field will win the game." - Now that's insight.

When I first started watching the game I used Madden to get more familiar with the rules and the game it self. Thats about it though..

No seriously, you can get way into Madden and watch what guys' assignments are on every play, etc. But usually I don't want to study when I'm maddening - I just want to do what works and wiggle my joystick. You know what I mean you perverts. But yeah, I guess you can learn a lot from Madden. There, I said it.

What I learned from Madden is that the Patriots should have let the clock run out in the closing minutes of Super Bowl XXXVI to take their chances in the playoffs rather than go for the win.

madden 03 did wonders to get me into nfl. suddenly i had a reason to memorize players names, and a pocketful of made up stats to compare them. as a math geek, it was a wet dream cum true.

madden stats aren't terribly accurate on player's onfield performances, but i still find myself saying "that's why tom brady has a 98 thp, *****!!!"

I learned that if you get hut and don't get up, the ambulance will run you over.

Yeah I learned a few things about different formations and packages, its pretty cool that way.

Yeah, packages, routes, defensive looks etc. Also it highlights how its easier to run the ball rather than pass and how great Randy Moss is :)
