Check out who fans think is the best coach. I guess SB wins and domination of the decade doesn't mean as much as it use to.

Who's the best head coach in the game. This was taken from a Sporting News Poll. Totally disgusting.

Bill Belichick
19%
Tony Dungy
27%
Mike Shanahan
8%
Mike Holmgren
14%
Someone else
33%

Re: Who the fans think is the best coach

I think the fans are more biased than stupid. I wish there was a breakdown of who the "someone else" coaches are or could possibly be.

Re: Who the fans think is the best coach

Pretty much what I'd expect from fans. Everyone who knows anything about football knows that Belichick is the best- the other 81% of fans from this poll are just bitter, stupid, or both. Nothing to lose sleep over.

Exactly, and he has 3 titles...Seriously, 33% of the people voted for who?

Re: Who the fans think is the best coach

In any poll such as this one, popularity plays a very large factor. More often than not, a person who takes the time to vote in this type of poll is not going to be objective. In this case, many of the votes are based on "who is my favorite" coach rather than "who is the best." Likewise, there will also be many 'negative' votes, where people vote for somebody/anybody other than the person they don't like.

Perhaps that 33% "other" vote was by fans who realized BB was the best coach but don't like him and the Pats, and realized that they could not in good conscience vote for Dungy or Holmgren.

I agree...I think if Bill had a personality more like **** Vermiel he would be the clear winner in the poll.

Re: Who the fans think is the best coach

Tony Dungy at 27%? Really?

That's Homerism and Hate - Nothing more. Embrace the Hate.

Re: Who the fans think is the best coach

I doubt that Red Auerbach in his prime would have been picked in a fan poll as the best pro basketball coach. Those cigars didn't make many opposing teams or fans very happy.

ScottieC "Embrace the hate" was my signature line from last Oct. 2007 to the day after the SB. I understand embracing the hate its born of jealousy and ultimetly a sign of respect. ;)

Thats the first thing i noticed Dungheap at 27% speaks of brain death on a large scale. Whats worse though is the 33% who voted for "another coach ahhhh like who?

Ok. Now ask the people who DIDN't vote for BB...
If you were going to start a franchise who would you choose to be your head coach?
