Donte' Stallworth missed the first day of Browns training camp with a hamstring injury.

And who could be surprised? The Human Hamstring Pull wasn't placed on camp/PUP, though, indicating the Browns expected Stallworth back shortly.

Looks like we let him go just in time :D

didn't he have hammy problems wiht the pats?

Not really, still would have liked him and prob would have had a bigger role on the team if Moss was not traded for last yr.. But this is his 3rd team in 3 yrs, I guess he is a jag at best, but liked him but tailed off the last part of the yr.

Based on the recent history (Givens, Branch and Graham), he'll probably end up contracting the plague when a truck carrying medical waste smashes into his house, causing a fire that ignites his life savings.

Seriously...why would anyone sign a receiver away from the Pats?

Long-term contracts with the fat signing bonus banked and invested will do that to Donte :)

Oddly enough, his one-year future-contract 07 season showed 2 very, very healthy hammies :)

Strange how it all works out like this

Eh, why go so creative, when it's far more likely he'll just contract a staph infection at the Cleveland Clinic?

You're confusing Stallworth with Moss. Stallworth never had a hammy with the Pats. Moss did very early in camp, though, and missed the whole training camp.

Remember all the "Moss isn't practicing so he must be made of glass like that stiff Chad jackson and BB is going to cut both of them because they can't stay on the field - you can't make the club from the tub" moronic threads we had to live with last year?

Hey, some vets just dont like camp, lol! He is not the only one, but that is one of the few injuries that is hard to diagnose because few ever get x-rayed. While it is a more common injury with guys coming into camp not in the best shape, the lingering affects are pretty telling. Maybe he has a biking jacket like TO he wants to show off....

Stallworth injured himself in mini-camp last year and then ended up missing the first two weeks of camp because of it.

That was an uncertain situation - there were a good number of people saying he was sent him because he didn't know the offense well enough.

Yeah, I was going to post that, but I raised that possibility last year and got slammed from all sides for suggesting that the Pats would hold a player out because he didn't know the playbook. I guess I am a little gun shy for raising that possibility now eventhough I think it is probably true considering he was rumored to lose his job as the #3 WR because of his lack of knowledge of the playbook.

What I recall is that he started on PUP and had no idea until a reporter told him.

Right - and the reason he was put on that list was a subject of much conjecture . . .

That sucks, I wish the guy the best. I wont lie seeing that **** makes me glad they didn't throw money at him. ONE healthy season on a one year deal....Hmmm.

It's a bit dangerous to take training camp off with a faked injury when you are new to the team. Although Moss took very few snaps during the 2007 Pats camp and it certainly didn't affect him, but then again he may be the best receiver of all time.

Yeah, Brady to Moss vs. Anderson to Stallworth - not too comparable :D

Stallworth practiced at least a little today. I was at Browns camp and saw him on the field. I hadn't heard about him being hurt so I didn't watch him, but I saw him out there.
