this topic makes me wonder, when were no longer the "dynasty team"(the thought makes me shudder), which other team will be what we are now?
The Lions will take over as a dynasty in the 2010/2019 decade - once they fire Millen that is
Are you Jon Kitna?
Yes,I am and I predict 15 wins this year (Of Course that means that the backup QB behind me plays that is becasue I am certainly not capable of double digit wins,at least in one season)
The best answer"
AS LONG AS HE WANTS TO!
Life will present him with a series of challenges, including the retirement of his COACH and and his future wifes mentality. Examples:
MiKe Jordan retired to ...well, not go home to his wife and 3 kids but to run around with a bunch more women in minor league cities as he had already had alot in the major ones. Cost??-$130+ MILLION
Brett Favre has $12M/yr contract on the table and there is NO WAY his WIFE lets him sit at home on his ass. Anyone ever tried it for a sat. afternoon without being put to work let me know......Cost??-His reputation and god-like status in Green Bay.
Roger Clemens' , nuff said.Cost?-Reputation, Millions, Wife? Prison?
If he is healthy and can convince his coach to stay....he has at least another 7+years in him. Another reason I dont like the OD drafting.
this is a tough thread for me to read. it brings back the last two years, when TB was, as he remains today, at the peak of his talent.
in one of those years, the pats' Front Office, for whatever reasons that we can debate forever, stripped him of his best weapons and he still almost got it done, with the team running out of steam in the second half of that game in indy we all want to forget. last year, he had the weapons but, for reasons that have been debated for hundreds of hours out here, it didn't happen in Arizona.
that's easily two more rings he might have had with just a few things breaking differently, some in his control, many not. but the nfl is a tough place to win and every season has its "woulda, shoulda, coulda" teams.
Yeah, the Pats could've won the SB in each of the past two seasons, and, last year in particular, they were obviously the best team in the NFL That being said, you can't pick and choose only the games where things went wrong for the team, it doesnt work that way. When the Pats won 3 in 4 SBs, A LOT of breaks went their way...they were getting the lucky bounces NY got in the SB and the Colts got in the '06 AFCG. It's somewhat true that you create your own luck, but no team will ever have things fall their way 100% of the time, in fact you'll be considered a great team if things broke your way about 50% of the time.

Brady's numbers(and the pro bowl needs numbers)are due as much to the team and coaching staff as him. Take BB and Moss and put them on the Jets and maybe Brady doesnt make the Pro Bowl THIS PAST YEAR....a year he was 1 vote short of unanimous MVP!! Football is a TEAM game, it has to do with health, preparedness, skill, mixed in with a little potential and luck. We can cry over losing a SB because of an amazing catch or we can rejoice with a couple game-winning kicks.....its perspective. If you tell me before our first game last year that we lose in the super bowl I would say it was a very good but not great year....thats how we should view it now. To dwell on it because of the quest for the perfect season is futile, and I think the best thing that can happen would be to lose a game early this year....and NO, never thought I would have said that.

Are you talking about Tommy's chance at a Pro-Bowl?
I never understand the What if so and so and what about if he was on this team or that team or Randy had Pink Eye and did not catch the ball or Wes got hurt in a Mustache growing contest.
It's all irrelevant, right? Our team consists of the guys on the 53 Man roster and that roster is WAY past good enough to get a whole bunch of guys in the Pro-Bowl...including the leader of the team.
He(Brady) will be the first to agree, the QB gets too much blame when they lose and too much credit when they win. He didnt somehow take a strange steroid that lept him past Peyton in TD tosses......it was his teammates, on this I bet we agree. I mean his own DAD said his 06 season was better than his 07. Not meant as sacreledge(sp?)but knowing this I dont know why Moss didnt get a single vote for MVP, that kinda shocks me. What does a guy gotta do?? He made the offense so completely different than the year before...
