excellent news.

Good stuff. I can't wait to see Crable motor in from the outside and blast some unsuspecting quarterback out of his kleets.

We had a lot of "almost" sacks last year. Hopefully the young, fresh legs can convert a few - plus keep the older legs a little fresher.

thats great news. Let's hope that are all signed soon.

I can think of one "almost" sack I'd trade in for a lot of actual sacks from the season.:(

That's for sure. There were a good number of less memorable ones throughout the season too. If you remember the Philly game, Feely stood in against good pressure and had completions several times that he threw right as he was hit.

We need some more first rounders to sign to speed up the Mayo signing. Dorsey , hurry up you have people waiting on you.

Wow, that's a lot of unsigned first round picks. I didn't realize that there were so many. I wonder what the hold up is?

The exorbitant amount of money they're demanding.

I wonder about Round Two...according to PFT, the second rounders may be harder because of a special ruling many are waiting for...
FROM PFT.....
"In English, there’s no way to fully guarantee the future year’s salary without screwing up the player’s compensation in the first two years of the deal.
We’re told that the device is more common in round two, with the fourth-year salary being fully guaranteed until the playing-time bonus is reached. In that case, the reallocation to 2008 and/or 2009 can be avoided only if the salary is fully guaranteed in both 2009 and 2010, per the CBA.
The risk for this and other similar contracts is that, if the player doesn’t achieve the minimum playing-time trigger for payment of the one-time incentive amount and if the player otherwise stinks, the team can cut the player prior to 2011, and avoid any responsibility for his salary.
The player in that case would have no recourse (except maybe against his agent), since the payment wasn’t “fully guaranteed,” and thus not subject to the requirement that the 2011 salary be reflected on the books in 2008 and 2009."

The posibility of an uncapped season and it's affect on the Guarnteed $$$. IMO.

Thanks guys. I really haven't given these CBA issues a lot of attention.
Thanks again for the info.

I think Dorsey and others signing has less to do with Mayo than this:

Amobi Okoye, #10 Pick in 2007 Draft
7/26/2007: Signed a six-year, $15.4 million contract. The deal includes $12.785 million in guarantees. Another $2.3 million is available through incentives. 2008: $370,000, 2009: $630,000, 2010: $765,000, 2011: $850,000, 2012: $665,000 (Voidable Year), 2013: Free Agent

IMO, get rid of the voidable year, bump up the guaranteed number and add in some additional escalators...and you have Mayo's contract. Don't see Mayo causing a stink over these numbers or the Pats losing too much sleep coughing up that kind of green.

No doubt. Feeley looked uncharacteristically competent as a QB in that game. He must've had an "out-of-body" experience that night.

Either that or he knew just how to expose the lack of speed with our linebackers. Notice, though, that when he tried to go to the outside, he was picked off twice.
