he played how many years with the sox? what was it ten years? and the bone head has a yankee cap on at the all star game. i know he won a WS with the suckees in 96 but that's pathetic. 99 percent of his hall of fame career was in a redsox uniform. f-ck him.

good point. the thing i remember most about his days with the sox was him crying in the dugout after the sox lost the 86 series. that stiff has more loyalty for the rays then he does the redsox

Don't forget that he was a drunk who routinely harrassed women on planes.

I remember him arguing to have an error that he made in the field changed to a hit while the Sox pitcher (I forget who it was) had a no-hitter going.

I don't remember that, which is amazing. Anyone have any information on this?

How about the time when he insisted that the Kansas City mound was a foot shorter then regulation. The Sox then go to play K.C. and the Royal players give Boggs a tape to measure from the plate to the mound. Sure enough, its one foot short of regulation. What the players (who are now rolling on the ground laughing) didn't tell Boggs is that they cut the tape in the middle by a foot.
The network was wrong in showing him crying after the series ended. That was the end (the season) of distracting his attention from the loss of his grandmother and mom who had died in a car accident.
That whole episode with his mistress was bizarre, true to form for Boggs.

Trying to dig up something about Boggsy complaining to the official scorer about an error during a no-hitter.. I couldn't find anything on it, but I found http://bigapplesports.net/2008/06/15/happy-birthday-wade-boggs/

Wade was a drunk, who routinely drank 60 or more beers on the cross country flights.. Not sure if we should love him or hate him for that.. :singing:

Funny how the Yankees, didn't consider him a "true yankee" the six guys that they had to throw out the first pitch.

Boggs, basically sold himself out, with that stint in NYC. He has no "home" now, is he a Sox, a Yankee, or a (don't say Devil) Ray?

The only thing that he can effectively sell no is hair replacement:::

Why are you guys trying to Bogg down on him so much?

Cuz Boston fans are holier than thou, haven't you been paying attention.

BTW, did it ever occur to any of you that last night's All-star game was IN NEW YORK CITY! Sheesh. I guess Boggs should have worn a Redsox cap in an Allstar tribute, for the last year of Yankee Stadium. Especially since it was the team & stadium he played and won in.

Did the Sox even want him back in 1992? I'm not sure they did. Also, he won a World Series with the Yankees, so I'd say he has a home in NY. Not to mention that ring to go with it.

wtf are you talking about? what was everbody supposed to do put on a yankees cap? boggs went into the hall of fame as a redsox player. every other hof out there had on there cap that they went into the hall with. some had two. boggs played what? one year with the suckees? he should have had enough respect for the sox and had there cap on.

Typical yahoo fan. Boggs played 5 seasons with the Yankees. He won a World Series with them. I think Mo Vaughn described your type best. ;)

ill answer for you. yes and yes. case closed. what kind of fan i may or may not be has nothing to do with boggs and his lack of respect for the sox.

I'm glad he wore a Yankee hat, who cares.

The less people think Wade Boggs=Red Sox and the more they think Wade Boggs=Yankees the better as far as I'm concerned. The only ballplayer Wade ever worried or cared about was Wade, the guy for whom the phrase "There's no I in TEAM" was coined. He stunk out the joint in 88 and 90 vs the A's in the playoffs.

After the Red Sox won the World Series in 2004, I thought of Teddy Ballgame, Johnny Pesky, **** Raditz, Yaz and Jim Rice. Wade Boggs did not make the cut, who cares about that sh!tstain.

your right. hes a ****. i just found it irritating. it came off to me like he was pandering to yankee fans. i wish the sox never put him in the redsox hof he doesnt deserve the recognition.

Wade Boggs would put a towel on his head if he thought the taliban would like him.

Ok, you know what's really f'd up.
In this Margo Adams scandal, Boggs wants Margo to dye and cut her hair so Margo looks like Wade's wife (the story may have been in that publication). Who the hell wants their mistress to look like their wife?
